Most common spelling mistake / typo ??

How many times has someone been looking for a Hot "Burnette" :D

Is this the most common spelling mistake / typo on the FreeOnes boards ??

http://board.freeones.com/search.php?searchid=15724003

Don't get me started.

AND, I think an awful lot of they're, their, there errors are a very bad use of English, not typos. AND, there are less errors by those speaking English as a second language. When the NYC school system want's black hip hop slang as a recognized language, it looks like anything goes in the educational system. No wonder in the US total imbeciles can grow up to be President.

u instead of 'you'

Fucking **** and their fucking mobiles, fucking texting their fucking weird fucking typo words...for fucks sake.

More tea vicar?

I used to spell grammar incorrectly. It is not grammer, even though, computer programmer is not computer programmar...

There are too many dumb rules in American English today. I understand the desire to have a separate "English" from the Crown, back in the day...we wanted our own version of the language in official state correspondence.

Our citizens' understanding of grammar, punctuation, spelling is being devalued and eroded by a general sloppiness in business and work ethic today. It is common for people to rely on spell check, copy/paste off of wiki, ignore basic proofreading..etc.

We are a sloppy nation, basically....

Not all of us have a higher education. :) No sin in that I don't think. If I know what they meant, that's really enough. I do get annoyed a bit at the missing of caps at the beginning of sentences. Things like America, Georgia, God, I , not having caps. That's early on 'edumacation' and even I got that far in school.

I do **** slang though. I also agree 100% that most from other countries have a better grasp on the English language than most of us do. Some know more of our politics than our citizens and that's truly a shame. :(

There are few things that **** me off more than trying to read something that is written in complete jargon, with no regard to punctuation, spelling, capitalization, or grammar in general. I dread getting text messages/e-mails from some of my friends because the content might look something like

wassup foo we gonna kik it 2nite u shud come pik me up

which, needless to say, makes absolutely no sense, at least to me it doesn't. Maybe it's because I was an English grammar tutor in college, or maybe I'm just anal retentive, but seeing something as flawed as that really bothers me. Perhaps what bothers me most about getting a message like that from a friend is that I know all my friends are educated and smart enough to know how to construct sentences and write down coherent ideas, but instead choose to try to be "cool" by writing in ebonics, which is a whole can of worms that I don't even want to open right now. Let's just say I consider it a bastardization of the English language.

you're and your must be up that list

They're over there by that car.

Their dog is good at listening to commands.

There is that bike I wanted to purchase.

Too much ******** on TV.

To the beach we'll go to spend our afternoon.

You're going to have to speak louder for me to hear you.

Your *** is a serious MILF.

Our country is going down the crapper.

Are you coming or what?

Here are the books I purchased for school.

If you want to hear you must stop talking.

^Some of the most common. I like to let typos slide but I let spelling slide as well. Puncuation is what iritates me most, and I know I have a long way to go on perfecting my puncuation as well. :helpme:

Well English has a lot of rules, but it's always been that way. It's cool to be stupid these days.

Basic English is taught by the end of the middle school years. People write so badly at times, I have to break out my decoder ring to try to figure out what they're saying and by then could care less. It's usually not very important or well thought out anyway. It's even in the board rules not to write like that.

Your posts never suffer from that hung out on the street look instead of going to school during 3rd and 4th grade. Sloppy, or lazy? I mean the style is to walk around with boxer shorts up, but your too big pants falling down with one hand on your belt loops to keep pulling them above your $200 sneakers and looking like an overdose is coming. :dunno:

Is it any wonder why foreigners write and speak better if that's what passes for style, class or education in America?

Several high schools in my area are now accepting text abbreviations in students' work. This is the same school district that taught 4 classes to spell phonetically, before deciding to drop and and start teaching again, so now there are 4 years worth of people out there who got through school just fine, but never learned to spell. I have a friend who is a high school teacher and when I asked her how they could justify allowing text-speak, she simply replied "We don't have a choice. I've got **** who will tell me to fuck off right to me face and if I try to do anything about it I get their parents trying to sue me." At least there is one girl, currently squeaking and bouncing in her chair upstairs, who will be able to spell and articulate, I'll make sure of that.

DrMotorcity

Don Trump calls me Pornography Man
Don't get me started... But the worst typo EVER was mixing up DMC with DVC. :crash:

*Watch it, watch it, would you? You want to get us both shipped out to Profland, the Lone T-Shirt State?*

Charming. No need to worry. At this rate, China will surpass us in the math and sciences in about 25 years.

It's also going to **** with the abbreviations people use on their mobile phones. I'm dyslexic, so I know I fuck up big time sometimes...thank GOD for spell check. :)

I try not to make mistakes. Most of the time when I do, it's because I'm typing too fast.

Once in a great while I will put down "think" for "thing" and vice versa. I usually catch it when I reread though my post before submitting it, but there have been a few times where I noticed it later on.
