You're thinking of The Final Run in the last level The Maw in Halo CE.
Folks shouldn't comment on the ending without seeing it on Legendary and after the credits roll...
Even seeing it on normal still ends the game nicely, the legendary ending, for all the extra 5 seconds or so you actually see additionally, wont leave the unadventurous player feeling robbed of anything. Unlike the first though, it continues with that of the seconds theme of adding a little bit to the story, I wont comment farther for any on the board who havent seen it yet, but even if you never reach that far, the ending you will see no normal and heroic, still ties up everything better than I had anticipated.

What's next? I recon they will drop the Halo name and it will just be a spin off starring Master Chief. It will be quite a long time until that happens though.

I already bought the Orange Box, but I have to upgrade my system before I can play the games (ep2, portal, TF2)
Valve is an awesome company overall
Halo 3 was good for like the first month, but when COD4 came out it died, i have played it once since.
