It's interesting to see that they're willing to have 2 promotions in the UK/EU, but too scared to create a branch in either Japan or Mexico.

They were thinking about having an NXT Japan. Not sure what the plans are for it now. WWE tried to buy NOAH.

The problem with NXT gobbling up geography is the wrestlers are bound by contract no longer able to work Indies. Some are benefited but others are handcuffed. It's the same thinking as when WWF crushed the territories and their competition. Indies are the modern day territories. Without competition you can coast, half-assed lacking creative ambition knowing the marks don't have any other alternative and will still watch.

Good point. Some of the NXT UK releases got indie bookings literally the day of the announcement, so clearly their minds had already gone there.
Even wrestlers on Raw/SD can still be pressed for money, so I can't imagine the salaries for NXT leveler's are particularly. high. At the very least, they should rescind that edict about making money on social media like twitch/etc.

There were the days of "farming" feds like OVW, remember those? I don't believe they were as strict on indie booking when you were on that tier, and it really was a chance to train & show you had what it takes to make it to the big show. I thought NXT was supposed to be like that, but it's evolved into a 3rd show instead of a farming team. Probably because they realized the access to variety was profitable.

NXT is more a third brand than a developmental in 2022. WWE needs a proper developmental to develop talent while they are still green keeping them off of TV until they are ready to be showcased in front of real fans. Some inexperienced talent are getting exposed and leaving the wrong impression which could become permanent.

Even during the territory days there shoulda been a developmental. Check these gorgeously putrid promos.

I was always under the impression that it was supposed to be a consolidated "developmental" league where WWE would have direct control. But it just took off in popularity and like you said, just became its own show. Even to the point where they send stars on the main show back down there if they need refinement - like Rose. Heck, I recall that when they were matching TNA viewership numbers, that's when they really got the spotlight.

Plus, being able to say that your "developmental" show is going toe-to-toe with the competition is a huge ego boost for WWE.

I think there is some benefit to throwing them in front of a camera. If they mess up, they can still improve. At least they can be given a fair chance before getting cut. At the point they get to NXT, they should be able to cut a decent promo, so that's not too much to ask of them.

My talent is a reflection of my organization. If they don't look professional then neither do I. A wrestling show is still a TV show and I believe you should put your best foot forward. I would not put anyone on TV who's not ready to be seen. You won't find a lot of solid veterans willing to work with overly green talent. If something dangerous happened on live TV you'd have trouble with the network too. I also don't want to have to hire a guy to get my clips lifted from the weekly Botchamania YouTube Videos.

NXT needs to have more house shows where inexperienced wrestlers can get experience in front of real fans learning how to call and pace a match as well as read the crowd. That takes time and I wouldn't rush them on TV to leave a bad first impression which would be unfair to the wrestler.

Wow, that tag tourny slot seems cursed...

On that note, what do you think about Nikkita? I didn't think she was particularly good looking, and now people are commenting that she's packing on the pounds. It doesn't help that it looks like she's wearing a spanx suit to hide things while the other ladies aren't shy of showing off what they got.

Nikkita is at the stage where she should start losing weight because she looks like she could turn into Doudrop if she don’t put the fork down soon.

I married an Asian woman so I’m about quality over quantity. Some fellas are into quantity and might still jack off to Nikkita even if her ass looked like 2 chewed-up packs of bubble gum that got pushed together.

Yeah, not my cup of tea.

So after a hiatus, Stratton and Choo are getting great reviews. Your thoughts change on her after the last match?

I have nothing against Wendy Choo when she's out of that crapola sleepytime gimmick. The match was fine and I do like Tiffany.

Ever notice I seem to have more passion for pro wrestling than politics? Pro Wrestling is more transparent and honest with both possibly having predetermined outcomes but always keeping one step ahead of the marks.

Hey, we all have our interests and passions.
What gets my gears grinding in politics can change literally that morning. Same with wrestling - some matches/wrestlers/storylines will perk my interests, while other's will bore me in the first 5 seconds.

One thing I try to keep in mind though is that life is better when you're spending more time on things you like over those which piss you off.
While we "hate" heels, we know it's part of the act, and have fun hating them. There are some wrestlers/personalities which you hate IRL, but in general there's nothing in wrestling that gets you so worked up you can't sleep at night.

Politics on the other hand...

So it makes sense to be more passionate about wrestling than politics. It's just more enjoyable, and better for your blood pressure :)

I'm getting tired of all this high-flying monkey spot crapola. It looks overly cooperative like a choreographed dance routine. Male cheerleaders, figure skaters, and gymnasts have no business in professional wrestling.

We're at odds there. I love the stuff. As long as it is done well. Io & Saray's Joshi flying is some signature stuff. As is the Lucha stuff. Stratton & Katana's stuff too.
I do agree that it can't look overly cooperative. Stuff like adjusting your position while lying on the ground so that you're in place to eat a moonsault, or when they are just standing there waiting around to catch someone jumping from the top rope.

I think I appreciate the fact that as choreographed as it may be, it still takes skill and practice to get it right on live TV. There's always a risk of botching, and those who can't consistently hit those high spots have NO business trying them.

Case in point...

A lot of the high flying stuff looks too light like a mosquito landing on you. Somebody does a Double-Flippy Pescado over the top onto the outside and his shirt barely touches the guy's back and he still sells it. Wrestling is still supposed to be simulated combat. You ever doing any fancy-dancy stuff like that in a real fight? Give me Stan Hansen vs Vader anytime over the Sports Entertainment Ice Capades.

I'm not saying I never want to see aerial moves but the stuff they usually do is too unrealistic. Maybe mix in a few high flying spots but keep it a wrestling match. I like guys like Pac who come from the Dynamite Kid school. His stuff looks great and he has incredible agility and balance. He can get on something only 4 feet high and hit a 450 with a tight revolution and hit the bullseye. Fenix, his partner, is a botchfest.

Gunther is the type of wrestler I like. Great match against Nakamura and I'm looking forward to his upcoming brawl with Seamus. Gunther is solid and everything he does looks like it hurts. He's a grown man who fights like one.

Remove this bathroom wall on two legs from my television set this instant! She gives me nervous green diarrhea by just looking at her. If I saw Kayden Carter in a strip club I'd pay her $20 to walk away. She ain't my cup o' tea nor my 40 Oz of malt liquor. Into the flaming dumpster she goes. When the medical examiner removes her charred corpse she's still wriggling around.
