The best basketball movie I've seen in a long while. Ben Affleck is uncharacteristically good in this as Coach Jack Cunningham...a local HS basketball legend out West, who has sunk into a life of alcoholism following the death of his *** and the end of his marriage. He is asked to be interim coach for his alma mater, and pushes the ***** aside long enough to mold the **** into winners with a lot of toughness, cuss words, and good, old-fashioned anti-Catholicism. No spoilers...but it makes you feel good in a way akin to Hoosiers, but with a dash of Hoop Dreams to bring you back to reality. Highly recommended. B+

Ooooo - Maika was the cute blonde in "It Follows." She does good films!!
