Flacco and Cutler have had years to show what they can do and so far I haven't seen much. Both teams (Bears and Ravens) are division contenders with glaring weakness at the QB position. Easy to blame other offensive players, but if they are as good as suggested, they would make the players around them better. Those Pro Bowl weapons on the Panthers you mentioned, finished dead last in 2010! Carolina wisely use their #1 pick on a promising college QB rather than trade it for Flacco or Cutler and future considerations.
Speaking of considerations... Cam Newton played championship ball his final year in college, entered the NFL during a player lockout that limited his prep time before the season started (plus veterans learning new system and coach) and finally he did have a terrific season. That said, I wasn't a fan of him when he was in college, and as my
original post states, the jury is still out on Cam.
