Your job?

I work for blockbuster not a bad job except for a very small percentage of customers. It's like your working an 8 hour shift and a customer gets pissed off in your first hour there just because a video they wanted is rented out and now the nice customers are paying for that asshole being an asshole. Oh, sometimes people forget that saying "Thank You" can go a long way. Thanks for letting me bitch a little.

It was a busy truck stop with lots of regulars. I loved their rueben. It was one of the last places in town you could still smoke. That was a big plus for her, not so much for me. I love her even though she smokes. lol

I love regulars! Well, most of them. There's a select few that are jerks sometimes. But most of them are pleasant.

So great that you love your girl regardless of her smoking! I've had a few boyfriends that resented me for it. Fuck em. You gotta take me as I am.

The Blockbuster in my town closed down last year because of the competition with Redbox, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Not enough sales.

I agree with you, no matter how many nice, pleasant customers you encounter, the few bad apples can completely ruin a day.

I work in auto parts sales, and I deliver auto parts to local shops. I get a few customers who are clueless to what they need or want, and some customers who get mad when I test a battery they tell me when it needs charging, and the test results come back good, and not charge is needed. I deal with them daily.

Same thing happened to the Movie Gallery in my town, but it was also due to the fact that a better movie store a mile down the road got better business, also the Movie Gallery went bankrupt, and had to close stores.

I drive a tractor trailer. I've been doing it for 25 years...I used to love it, but not anymore. To many years in the saddle, to many new rules meant to cripple the industry, and generate revenue, and not truly make things safer, as claimed. But, on the bright side, I work for a private carrier, so I go to the same places on a regular schedule, and I don't work much more then 45-50 hrs a week. I have a nice tractor, and only 2 people ever drive it, and I've known the other driver for 15 years. The weather can really suck in winter, but this one has been really good. It pays the bills, at least I have seniority, and a stable job, with a stable company.

I set up America's Got Talent today. It was a long and stupid day.

is it as much drama filled bitchiness as one would expect?

There was a whole day's worth of doing something, redoing it, redoing it again, and then going back to the way it was originally because the producer didn't like it, or because the lighting designer got his panties in a bunch. The actual show isn't until tomorrow and Saturday.

i hate having to re-do things like that...makes me feel like causing harm to people haha

Yeah, it is annoying to a degree, but we're paid hourly, so the more times we redo something the more hours we work.

One of my coworkers told a story about when they were working on What Dreams May Come. They spent a whole month building a set. When they finished, the director came to look at the set, and decided that he wanted the scene to be shot from the opposite perspective, so they had to tear everything down and build it flipped around.

Setdec is a thankless job. Did a lot of contract work in Santa Fe for various westerns. On the DreemKeepers set, me and my crew worked 5 freezing January days blowing sand only to have to move it all, find out that was worse, and move it all back to it's original location because the director got a hair up his ass.

Wow, that sounds like the making of Miss FreeOnes every year.

I work in a rehab/long-term nursing home and I love it. My residents adore me. When I left out of town and had to come back and they found it they took me right back before I even moved back into town.

It's nice. I love my job and get paid very nicely.
