It does NOT cost 103.9 pounds per liter to buy gas in England. That's absolutely insane. You can buy a barrel of oil for like 45 pounds. lol I suspect the guy made a really huge typo error. lol
Yeh sorry my fault, that should be 103.9 pence!! Its to late for me
Still far to much

Here in the UK there is talk of protesters blockading the oil refineries in protest of sky high fuel prices. Its just hit 92.9 pence per litre where I live!

And here where I live, it's just gone down to 2.89 per gallon (don't know the conversion for that) which means over the last 2 days, it's gone down 20 cents. Let's keep it dropping!!!!!!

Heard the news on Monday about the potential for gas hikes, so decided to run there and fill up real quick, and paid $2.43 a gallon.

As expected, due to Katrina, it steadily rose throughout the week, and this afternoon, I drove past the same gas station to go to the grocery store next door, and it was $3.19.

When I walked out of the grocery store TEN MINUTES LATER ... it was $3.49. I am NOT making this up.

Had to share!
Down to $2.99 here today ... fortunately I probably won't have to fill up again until the weekend.

It's "down" to $2.91 per gallon here today. I guess it's getting better.

Nice pic, comanduc! :rofl2:
lucky american boy, you paid the oil more than twice time less than us in france.
Stupid french taxes

Yeah but in France everything is within a couple hours' driving time, unlike the U.S. where you drive for 4 days from ocean to ocean. lol

But still, that IS expensive. I'm glad I'm not driving in France right now!

Well, the distances in Germany aren't as long as in the USA, too. But I don't think the US people drive much more than the Europeans.
Before the recent price explosion, we had to pay about 5.70 US Dollars per gallon here...

You can't compare just Germany or France to the USA. It's whole Europe you have to compare it with.
I don't think Americans will drive distances like Washington DC - LA every day, same as Europeans don't drive from let's say Madrid to Moscow or Stockholm - Athen every day.

Europe in general has a lot better public transportation systems. More people can get by without even using a car.

It's fluctuating between $3-$3.50 here in Cincinnati. and I just traded in my integra for a minivan, I may need a second job.
