The Beatles.

The Beatles> Everything that is living on this planet.

I can't believe someone said Chuck Berry was more influencial than The Beatles.

But Chuck Berry influenced the Beatles!! Without Chuck the Beatles wouldn't have been who they were!!! John Lennon even said "If you were going to give rock & roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."

Rock? The old stuff!!... beatles, rolling stones, pink floyd, david bowie, late U2 (NOT the early stuff), red hot chilli peppers... getting into creedance clearwater revival aswell

I'm gonna go with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, because no other band I know has so consistently impressed me. I love them.

The Replacements are my runner-up.

Other bands I love include the Beatles (of course), Sublime, Alice in Chains, Weezer, Pixies, They Might be Giants, Rage Against the Machine, Social Distortion, just to name a few.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Genesis
Yes
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Pink Floyd

Rammstein! I don't understand at all what they're singing but they rock.

And other bands I like a lot are Pantera, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, and old school Metallica.

Tough to name just one...

1.Joy Division
2.Wilco
3.The Who
4 Afghan Whigs
5.Velvet Underground

Queensryche. Mindcrime was a masterpiece.

definately !!
and mindcrime pt.2 is their best album since their last masterpiece "promised land".
it doesn't come close to part one, but hey, they friggin rock again.
even without degarmo !

apart from that there are too many great prog-rock/prog-metal/classic rock/hard-rock/
death-metal/grunge/"whatever the hell you want to call the genre" band from the 70s until now.

but what i really hate is the nowadays so "cool and hip" nu-metal teenie "i think i'm tough" bullshit.

It's really sad they never got noteriety for their best work. Their more mainstream stuff was still good, but nothing like Mindcrime or the previous albums (Warning, etc..).

it really is a shame !!
mindcrime pt.1 is one of those albums that is flawless from beginning to end.
great guitar work, great atmosphere, great drums, bass and one of the best singers ever.

i whorship "empire" and even more so "promised land" but mindcrime pt.1 is a true classic !

but then again there are so many great bands with truely gifted musicians who just don't
get noticed the way they should.
instead we have untalented puppets like britney spears who get all the fame and money...
