I've seen a couple of these movies but it would be more interesting if I actually understood the game. I mean, I know a little about the game but in my country it's not even popular. I think it's not the same if you haven't got this 'feeling' with it.

On a side note: I don't want to hijack this thread but does anyone know a website where the game (rules etc) are very well explained?

The only baseball movie I've ever seen was Moneyball

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
Major League, Bull Durham, Beer League, and The Natural.

I want to say Field of Dreams, but there is so little of the actual game itself in the movie. I like sports movies where the game itself, being played, is a major part of the story. It wasn't done that much in Field of Dreams.

I also want to say Bull Durham BECAUSE there was so much baseball, but Bull Durham was also kind of a chick flick in a way.

This is a tough question.

I might also add "Bang the Drum Slowly" to this poll. And Eight Men Out.

The thing about baseball movies is, the game itself is like a drama....makes it easy to translate into a dramatic movie.

OTOH, the best sports movie ever is not a baseball movie, it's Hoosiers.
