I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
I've been to Cabo San Lucas before that wasn't so bad.

My dad is going to see family in Mexico in October. Is the violence bad over there? Yes but these drug lords aren't Islamic terrorists, they arent killing people for the hell of it. This is about money and most of those dead were involved in the drug trade.

I like how the Mexican people are importing their vehicular hit and run policies into the fabric of America. . . and we're supposed to just sit here and tolerate it?! :mad:/

*note to self* never take a trip to Mexico, because it's the devil.

What percentage of people killed in the crossfire is acceptable?
Do you have a vague idea just how many innocent people are killed in this ongoing shooting gallery? Needless to say, it's difficult to get an accurate body count assessment coming from inside a paramilitary war zone, but innocent deaths amongst non drug trading civilians is so frequent that it's become a way of life . . in areas like Juarez anyway.

Or, when is flaying a man's head and sewing his face onto a soccer ball "just business"? And when are the non-corrupt police, mayors and other political figures who are brutally tortured and murdered considered "part" of it? Juarez bullets are landing in El Paso. Arizona parks are considered war zones.

This isn't the American Cosa Nostra. There's no Lucky Luciano or Carlo Gambino rules and wisdom here. There's no "between us" or "X, Y and Z are off limits" mentality here. We will soon be dealing with gangs of men who are backed by billions and encouraged to horrify the public. Men who'd make Pablo cringe. And I feel really fucking bad about the inevitable people who will be made examples of before we actually pull boots from 'Atsfuckedupistan and put them on the border.

Faces on soccer balls, people. That's who we'll be dealing with soon. People who sew human faces onto soccer balls.

Innocent people being caught in the crossfire is not acceptable but that is the reality in Mexico. The AG of Mexico said that 9 out of 10 victims are members of organized crime groups and I believe that. It's sad though that innocent people sometimes become victims. These cartels dont like to leave any witnesses behind so when they decide to take out a rival at a party not only will they take out their target they will kill everyone else present just for being there and being a witness.

Oh, BTW, My fellow Americans . . . did you take responsibility for this?

[ . . Calderon has successfully pushed the United States to acknowledge its own responsibility for the violence in Mexico since it is American drug consumers who fuel demand and American guns smuggled into Mexico that are used by the drug gangs.

I sure didn't :dunno: :p

Heh, funny that the gun stats have been busted...and I entirely covered that on this board in another thread. It's funny, he blames the Yankee appetite for drugs , but not the cartels' (and their THOUSANDS of paid Federales, cops, soldiers and politicians') appetite for the money and power said drugs yield. It's also funny that the same presidente is condemning all measure to increase border security in both directions. A president who'd love a North American highway that would be too busy to be regulate and monitor in any useful way.

But I'd expect no less from the guy guy who claims that Arizona's dumb illegal immigration bill is biased and unfair when his country's immigration policy is downright archaic.
