Anyway, yeah the guitar hero argument is pretty stale and old. I've been playing percussion, Bass, and piano since 2002 or somewhere close to there, I started learning guitar, drums, uke, and harmonica there afterwards. As an amateur musician, I don't get the same fulfillment playing guitar hero as I do playing a real instrument, but I still think it's fun, so what if people want to play a fake instrument?

Some people don't have the dexteriety, skill or rhythm to play guitar, drums, bass, etc, it's just a fact, you can practice all you want but you still need the mind and movement of a musician, If playing guitar hero fulfills people who otherwise would never be able to play those songs in real life, then let them have that fulfillment, at least they're getting exposed to great music, especially the kids, it's better for them to play guitar hero and acquire a taste for good music rather than sitting at the computer watching shit lil wayne or Drake videos.

It's a fucking video game. It's fun. You don't have to be an expert guitar player to play a video game. I know musicians like to have some bullshit superiority complex over everybody else but it's fucking gay. I can play numerous instruments like a boss and I still think guitar "queero" is fun.

Ok I'm done.

Anyway...get a PS3. If you have to ask, you're not a devotee of either consoles exclusives, so PS3 is clearly the better machine. Free online and Blu-Ray player tip the scales IMO. Also, the Playstation Store is better and the interface is more use friendly. Plus you can have me on your team if you play online. That alone is a deal breaker.

PS3 Team FreeOnes? I am in! Now lets just hope I get enough birthday gifty cards to get the lovely PS3! <3

i have both systems. Pros & cons for each...
i find myself mixing up my game purchasing for new games,some i buy for 360..some i buy for PS3. no reason just something different.
i have had guitar hero (metallica) and it was my first time ever playing it,im not a fan of toy weapons,guitars or such in my hands. i played through the metallica GH and had a fun time but after i beat the game it was months before i even touched the guitar again,it was completely dust covered i put the game in for another try but got bored rather quick. traded the game in,but since so many toy guitars get traded back in they didnt need mine. i tossed it in the garbage and havent had any itch to play another guitar hero game since.:dunno:

depends. if you want superior hardware, ps3. but for almost everything else, xbox 360. better online community, more games, pretty much anything sony or nintendo adds, microsoft will emulate it, so you won't miss out. from anything to avatars to new dashboards, to kinect, xbox always tries to beat the competition, so you'll get a good run for your money. what i'm saying is this: any type of gaming experiance you get from any other gaming system, xbox will match or outstrip it.

the only viable reason i see owning a ps3 is for the one or two good "ps only" titles like god of war, little big planet, and killzone. then again xbox's got gears of war, halo, and fable, so to each his own. in the end, it depends on what you're looking for. wii is more family oriented, playstation is more of a overall media center (like your computer), and xbox is the mesh of everything. i've owned playstations in the past and nintendos, but my votes stuck on xbox.

p.s. they're waaaaayy cheaper than ps3s (because of the blueray player)

Just watch out for the hidden video camera when you come over to play an Xbox 360 with Kinnect. Your unique, 5'10" top-heavy apple form in motion would send most of us overboard.

More to the original point, I have both an Xbox 360 w/Kinnect and a PS3 w/3D. I largely play the former to get some low-to-medium impact exercise and the latter largely for Gran Turismo 5 in 3D with a free standing wheel. It's hard to say which is "better," the two are just "different." However, I do have NetFlix and having the BluRay in the PS3 is nice, although more and more 720p (or better) streaming is becoming available via NetFlix (with either console).
