PS3 is the best. HD-DVD is shit, Blue-Ray the future
PS3 cpu = waaaaay fuckin stronger and faster than xbox's, cell processors are rediculous.
xbox 360 gpu= actually a bit stronger than PS3's, thats why GTA4 managed to play a bit smoother on 360, the PS3 was set for processing power, but the gpu just cant keep up.
Kind of funny that. I have played GTA IV for MANY hours on both consoles. And I have come to the conclusion that the PS3 version is slightly better at running than the 360 version.
Both versions have pop up here and there. But it happens a whole lot more frequent on the 360 than on the PS3. Like one time down at the harbour doing a mission for Phil Bell, on the way back out heading towards the security gates at full speed as I planned on doing what I usually do and crash through the gates. I ended up stopping dead in my tracks and the guy goes through the windscreen screaming and lands about twenty or thirty foot from the car. There was nothing there to hit. I got up and turned round, and right infront of the car was a concrete pillar, the one you pass before you leave the area [and after you enter] through the gates.
Also near the hospital in the first area you pass some trees. And on the 360 version some trees had half branches and the full branch didn't pop up untill you got closer to the trees. I've even had bits of road lose it's detail and just look smooth [blank]. And a lot of the buildings on the 360 version as well look bland for a short distance away and the detailed walls ect pop up once you get close.
It is obvious if you keep a look out for such things. Even the tiniest glitch. The PS3 has them too, but not as many [or as regular] as the 360 version. Also the PS3 version installs a 3.3G file to the HDD which cuts a lot of the pop up out and slightly improves the drawning distance as you drive along the road. The 360 version sounds like it is really punishing the drives lense as it plays the game, you hear the lense being raped as it zips back and fourth across the disc like a rapid fire yoyo.
well you could install the 360 version to the hard drive and it wont access the game disc at all.
you can install 99% of xbox games now.
