Would you even bother to pick up a dime off the street ?

Should coins continue to be minted ?

I agree with most people. I'll pick it up and throw it in my jar when I get home. I never use my change when paying for stuff so that I can save it. It's a couple hundred bucks at the end of the year

coins should definitely continue to be minted, but things like pennies are pointless...all they're good for IMO is prepping the tungsten on a TIG welder and taking up space in pockets, shelves, containers or anywhere else...:2 cents:

That and the Union Pacific tracks :hatsoff:

Put it this way, at minimum wage levels it takes just 6 seconds for a worker to earn 1 penny. That's less time than it takes for a checkout person to sort out your change and give it to you.I now just put all bronze coins into the charity boxes near the till , it might as well do some good. I tried saving these coins at one time, after a few weeks there was a heavy pile worth about £1.80.

For fun times, go to your local synogogue and throw a bunch of pennies on the ground. They will pick up everything, even those nasty green pennies

Here in the UK people glue coins to the floor for a laugh and then watch as people try to pick it up, they'll be kicking it and using tools and everything sometimes. I won't pick em up for that reason plus the amount of germs on the floor (ie urine phlegm etc) you don't know what you can catch by touching that coin.

Call me suspicious, but is there some reason why you want to know if I would bend over to pick up a coin on the street?:1orglaugh

Yes, .10 cents is .10 cents. I also pick up pennies. Of course then I leave them somewhere for my 6 year old to find. He loves that.
