Would A Girl's Job Or Hobby Put You Off?

Simple enough, would anything put you off a girl you like, for instance if her job involved crawling around in sewers, or if her hobbies included clubbing seals or shooting bunnies? Stuff that you disagree with, or may find distasteful or even cruel. :wave2:

I'd have an issue with the clubbing seals and shooting rabbits hobby; but I'm sure I could be made to forget about it if there were a constant supply nookie ;) Just as long as she didnt want me to go with her on her "trips"

Crawling around in sewers doesnt bother me, take a shower so you dont smell like shit and your fine.

i think in most cases a job or hobby is a reflection of someones personality or tastes unless that person is workin just to get a paycheck.

i wouldn't date a woman who was in some sort of animal cruelty industry. like fur, or anything like that. i probably wouldnt date a girl who had some sort of gun hobby either. i also try to stay away from women in child care. i gives me the idea that they want kids, and that is something i want NO part of.

As long as they remember to "cup the balls".....

Just kidding, depends on the hobby or job. If like you said its killing bunnies, then no I wouldn't date her.

Yes, but it would depend on what she does. Ironically, all the things you listed I don't really have a problem with.

Job not so much.

But if they have vastly different beliefs than me (not religion) such as clubbing seals I probably would loose intrest.

That's a good point. There are situations where people just work at their job because they need the money and nothing more. But, often times, people choose a career that fits their personality.

Personally, I wouldn't date a girl if she had a job or hobby that I found to be inappropriate. Stripper, porn star, drug dealer/user, prostitute, etc.

On a different note, I wouldn't date a girl if she had a job or hobby that I found to be a pure reflection of a personality trait that I found completely undesirable. Psyhologists, dancer, actress, etc.

Also, I wouldn't completely deny the possibility of a relationship with a girl for certain personal choices, but I would definitely take a long look if she had a lifestyle that clashed with mine. Vegetarian, religious, shopaholic, etc.

Hmmm, you wouldn't date a psychologist or an actress. Me thinks there is something to that statement....... :1orglaugh :wave2:

I wouldn't date a psychologist because there would be a great possibility that they would look way too far into things that would happen during our relationship and blow it way out of proportion. Personally, there is a 0% chance that I'd want to deal with that.

I wouldn't date an actress because there would be a great possibility that they would kiss a bunch of actors and have love scenes during movies. Personally, there is a 0% chance that I'd be comfortable with that.

So the problem is not that they may be "acting" when they're with you? :1orglaugh :wave2:

Eh, that and they might not be acting when they're shooting a love scene. But, the real issue for me would be that my girlfriend would be kissing and rubbing up on other dudes and I don't care if it's "just acting" or not...I'm not cool with that.

Yeah, but if you dated somebody like Kathy Bates, you probably wouldn't have to worry about it.

Im dating a girl who draws blood at one of those walk in labs and I have to admit, at times I get anxiety over her working w/ "tainted" or "contaminated" blood.....if you catch my drift!:o

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Selling drugs to kids is bad, um kay. Taking sperm donations orally, um, that's bad too. Using your ass as a used hypodermic needle pin cushion thingy, um, that's bad.

Well, I suppose if her hobby included using a hacksaw on the limbs, and dissolving the "problems" in barrels of acid, that might put me off.

If one of her hobbies was restraining men so she could strike their scrotum with a large mallet? Sure, I might have to shy away from that one.

But hobbies and jobs are many, and there are a number of things that I think would make me raise an eyebrow, and tell her to lose my phone number. Here's a short list:

Telemarketer for sham-wow
Feminist rally organizer
stand up comedienne
Jonas Brothers groupie
Hog calling champion
Reality TV junkie
Baptist minister
REALLY big fan of gay douchey vampires (Like this "Twilight" thing)
Being more into NFL football, video games, or other "guy things" more than I am
Violent sociopath

I'm sure there's more, but I have to go pick up my gal from the fish head processing plant.

Ok, Chef, here I go again! It strikes me as a little funny that here you are on this board directly connected with a free-pornography online supercenter and you are saying that you find strippers and porn stars "inappropriate"? Could you please elaborate on what you mean by inappropriate? Start with the strippers (who don't fuck for money)....

Also, how is the job of psychologist a "pure reflection of a personality trait" ????
[Very funny, btw, that you actually used a now-mainstreamed psychological concept - "personality trait" - to dismiss psychologists as completely undesirable. :1orglaugh]

Drug dealer - would this include a clerk at a liquor store?

Chef, wouldn't your ideal girl be a police officer? (perhaps a desk jockey, though)

As for me, I think I would be a bit skittish to be with a gal who worked as a butcher or a meatpacker. Big knives, bones, meat and blood all day. I treasure my man-meat too much to feel comfortable around someone who does that sort of stuff....

Why don't you start by explaining to me how working as a stripper or a porn star is appropriate...

To each their own, but (IMO) if you're in a relationship, you shouldn't be doing things like taking your clothes off for other people, dancing sexually for them, kissing them, touching them sexually or having sex with them. But, call me crazy if it's just me who feels that way. That's why I wouldn't date a porn star or a stripper.

Every psychologist (or other form of therapist) that I've met is a completely self-centered, over-analytic know-it-all that thinks they're better than other people. My former best friend went to college and got her degree in psychology. The minute she got her degree, she acted like a stuck-up know-it-all and all of her "original" friends started hating her because she acted like she was better than all of us. I haven't talked to her in a year.

PS - See? I don't have a degree in psychology, but I can still assess the same exact generalizations as a licensed psychologist can. That's exactly why I have always believed psychology to be glorified common sense.

Drug dealer - would this include a clerk at a liquor store?

No.

Chef, wouldn't your ideal girl be a police officer? (perhaps a desk jockey, though)

It'd be tough to date a police officer. The fear of seeing them off to work one day, knowing that they might not be coming home. Eh, that'd be tough.

I don't think a stripper/pornstar is an inappropriate career, but I wouldn't date someone in either of those professions. The perks of a relationship is what goes on behind closed doors, in the privacy of your bedroom. With strippers/pornstars, there is no privacy or closed doors. All doors are open. There isn't even a door.

I also think someone has to have a very different set of morals to get involved in that industry. Sex is something you do for money, instead of something you do with someone you love and I think that would carry on into the rest of the relationship.

That said, there are a few stars that I wouldn't be able to say no to. Nina, Faith, Sara and Brandy. <3
