Worst sports accidents/injuries ever?

I'm not watching any of this. I will read the descriptions if there are any. Anyways, one time, back when I was playing peewee football as a young lad. I remember some kid knocked down and got a boo-boo on his elbow. He was crying, saying how much it hurts. He kept crying and crying. People felt bad for him.

Next thing I know the coach of his team comes out, referees were standing around, the medical doctor for that day was by him. I remember the coach talking to the doctors, referees, they all did a confirm nod to each other. Next thing I know my coach pulls out a .44 magnum, tells the kid he is sorry, he had a good run as Linebacker, but it's time he goes to football heaven. He shot him in the head once, twice in the heart, and put his firearm back.

That was the worst sports injury I've ever seen.

Wait. What? :wtf:

San Diego Padre Dave Draveky.
It actually happened while he was a Giant, but I remember him more as a Padre. He'd had cancer the year before in 1988, and came back the next year - in his first game back, he pitched a great game against my Reds (I remember that game).
During his next start, he literally snapped a bone throwing a pitch to Tim Raines. To make matters worse, during the Giants pennant celebration at the end of the 1989 season, his arm was accidentally broken by two teammates. X-Rays showed the cancer returned and later his arm was amputated.

i remember that pitch, pretty bad to see.
