What we did to the Native Americans bothers me a lot. Today we recognize how we treated African Americans so wrong back in the day. But you don't hear as much about the Native Americans. Reading about the Trail of Tears really bothered me because I have Cherokee in my family. We pretty much drove them out and killed them along the way. I think people need to stop with racist crap between white and black only and see the whole picture. Many people in the past have been hurt or killed due to the inability of some to accept diversity. There was no reason for any of that crap to happen. I believe it won't happen again because we are past those times. All of those events you listed are horrible and I'm glad we have come a long way since then. There is still room for improvement.

I appologize I didn't mention them, but on an overall scale, the Jews are the most famous race of people to die in the Holocaust. I haven't forgotten the Soviets, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Slavs, political prisoners, and any group that died at the hands of the Nazis. But, anywhere, at anytime when someone mentions the Holocaust, the first, if not only group of people that are mentioned are the Jews. And so as to not piss you off, I should bump that number of people killed up to over 12 million.

How can you compare different events? Is it on the scale (in which case events in China must rank highly ; the Japanese in Manchuria and Mao's purges) or intent (the Jewish holocaust was an efficientl and deliberate policy of genocide or effect (the devastation of natives in South America , though not deliberate and the result of European diseases) ?
