The real question is how many tries did it take to make the shot?I'll bet he was working on that shot for weeks.

Considering it was shot from more than one angle, and how the ball smashes of the glass I would side more on it being real.

Why not be honest and say .... hi we're [blah, blah, blah] and this is attempt #1359.

At that distance all you really have to do is throw the ball in the right direction and hope for the best. There's no skill involved.

Hard to say. It's obviously not an impossible event, but it's also just a ball passing through open space - just as easy to make a very realistic looking edit of it on your home PC.

The little wiggle motion of the ball when it's coming down leads me to suspect it's fake. It'd have to be a pretty strong and sudden change of wind to alter its course in both directions like that when the forces of gravity and his throw are still affecting it.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
It looks fake, but apparently it was real. According to a news story on them, they tried the shot 231 times before getting it right. So it wasn't like this was their only attempt for the day; they had been working on it for awhile. Even if it took them that many tries, it's still pretty impressive.

I say it's a fake. Too bad I don't have slow-motion, but I always have a close eye at the moment when the ball leaves his hand when he throws it and it looks like an animation from up there

Spleen

Banned?
Not impossible, but like BlueBalls said, some honesty would make it more believable.

As for a guiness record of longest shot, I don't think it should really count seeing as the point he threw it was much higher up than the net. Still impressive though.
