World Population to Reach 7 Billion on Monday

Re: 7 billionth person to be born monday

I would think the standard deviation of the error for both any kind of world census and the world's population growth, especially if we went by each day, would make it virtually impossible to accurately pick the actual day the world surpasses 7 billion people.

The soon-to-be-child is currently in a custody battle between Madonna and Angelina.

Ironically, the kid will be kept in Octomom's uterus until custody is finalized

Re: 7 billionth person to be born monday

Well Truthfully the world is not super crowded, Read somewhere that the entire population of the earth, given the same amount of land a typical US home, everyone will fit into the state of Texas! The real problem is resources but the ratio of land to people we still have a shit load more room so lets all have unprotected creampie sex!! Woot!!

A few nuclear (pronounced nucular) bombs, and we're back to something realistic.

Who's going to pull the trigger first?

Does this look infected to you?
Too bad Covid wasn't a hellova lot worse. The world could use a really good pandemic to bring down these ridiculous population numbers - maybe something like airborne rabies which I once read would be the closest thing to a zombie apocalypse we'd realistically get.

"Soylent Green" is the best solution to overpopulation.
The 1973 movie was set in 2022, and had a world population of 7 billion.
In the movie they didn't have computers, iPhones or the internet, but they did have the first video game.

There will eventually be a natural or man-made disaster that drastically reduces the population.
Unless new technologies are invented to create unlimited energy and food that can sustain 20 billion people.
Hopefully in 100 years we'll be colonizing nearby star systems.

Uh .. you might want to have your Government support birth control / education / women's rights in Africa. THAT is where child birth is occurring. It is NOT in the developed world:

I have to echo this. The countries in which child poverty rates are the highest also tend to be ones with the highest number of children per household.
There are a multitude of reasons (including those listed) why this is, but IMO the bottom line is that there needs to be a change in childbirth rates in these countries if they hope to change things in those countries.

Logic states that with the same income, you can dedicate more finances/resources per child with fewer children. Between countries where families are depriving 6 children of food, clothing, education and other essentials, or those providing 1 or 2 with enough to succeed in life, which countries would be better placed to be more prosperous?

Case in point:

Countries with the highest fertility levels tend to be those with the lowest income per capita. Global population growth has therefore over time become increasingly concentrated among the world’s poorest countries, most of which are in sub-Saharan Africa. In these countries, sustained rapid population growth can thwart the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which remain the world’s best pathway toward a happy and healthy future.
