Women in military

The old Finnish people are saying that foreigners should be treated kindly, but they can never be trusted because they are our enemies.

That is why I think that's not a good thing that today also women going to the military service.


A lot of soldiers in some country = the more potential invaders.


But women soldiers are quite pretty and respectable?

But not every foreigner is your enemy. I think it may be the language barrier or English not being your primary language, but I don't understand your post/point, Assari. What do foreigners have to do with women serving in the military? Do you mean the Finnish military or women members making foreign forces that much larger, and more of a threat to your country?

Also, I'm not sure what them being "pretty" has to do with anything. If someone is shooting at you, why would you care if they're pretty or not? Male or female, it's the job of an enemy soldier to kill you, and your job (as a domestic soldier) to kill them. Would you have more of a problem killing a pretty, enemy, female soldier than her male counterpart?

You don't invade a country because of the women you have, you invade a country because of the women they have.

WWII would have lasted 2 years longer if German women were ugly or didn't shower. But once we had enough of French and Italian women and their armpit hair, it was time to press on to Berlin, no matter the cost.

-It depends on many things, but the war can occur easily.

Example:

England declared war on Finland (1941) with no real reason and we do not forget it.

Finland does not have anything against England, but they view us with hostily.

It is one reason why people think that foreigners are enemies.

-I meant that other countries armies are threat to Finland.

-A little difficult to answer without experience, but... the enemy is not human. :lame:

-I mean that it is not a good thing if the neighboring country has a large army.

-I mean that the Finns consider foreigners as a threat, but Finland is not a threat to others.

- I can ask someone to check the spelling, but it may not help.

In my tenure with the military both as a soldier and a civilian, I can tell you there are women in the military that I would choose to fight with before most guys. The main goal is to have people around that you can trust, be able to complete your mission and will give you the best chance to return home in one piece. Whether they are gay or straight, male or female.

I've got no clue whatsoever you are talking about...

Do you mean a woman can't be a good soldier? Do you mean you think women are physical weaker then a man and therefore not suited for combat? Whoever is in the military should answer this question (I'm not) but I think the military nowadays is more about skills. You sure have to be in good shape and health to (for example) fly a jet but it's going to have the same lethal effect if you have a trained women in the cockpit and she drops a bomb on your ass.

War veterans know that war is not an adventure.

-That is true, but England and Russia in particular were hostile to Finnish.

I served in the Army for 8 years, and usually the women that I met were just as good soldiers or better then the men. And many women have performed well in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Insurgents usually targeted support units which many women are assigned to. Yes, women should be allowed in service in combat jobs. If each female soldier can meet or pass the current stands for those jobs. A individual must be able to perform what it needed to for the job, or they should not be assigned to that job.

Women have enough power and are dangerous enough already. Keep them out of the military.
