There are some tough ass women out there. I have a cousin who could probably kick the butt off of most of the male posters here. So sure, why not? Because if they're captured by extremists they might be subjected to inhumane treatment? That already happens with male soldiers and women in non-combat roles.

When I was in, I served with some damn good women soldiers....but honestly, they were in the distinct minority. I would classify somewhere around 70% of the women soldiers in my "sphere of experience" weren't worth the trouble and I wouldn't trust in combat.
I also consider the upper body strength thing to be a big, honkin' deal. I could have hoisted someone bigger than me over my shoulder and carried them out of harms way if I ever had to. Maybe 10% (if that) of the women I remember could've done the same for me and my 6', 210 lb. frame. In other words, I was hardly a giant, by Army standards.

From what I understand the IDF allows women to serve in certain front line infantry units but isn't that done out of necessity? Israel has the population of Virginia in a land area the size of New Jersey surrounded on 3 sides by those who would wipe them out if they could.
I've never had the honor of serving and unless the continental United States is invaded by China in the next decade or so that probably will remain the case.
So I will gladly defer to those who have and who are.

i think it will give any enemy more balls(for lack of a better word) during any combat knowing they are fighting women.
also, is this really necessary? don't we have enough men to fight?
also, the distraction element. any scenario of soldiers in a war. lets say there are 50 soldiers stuck out in some shitty combat zone.
2 of them are women. its a no brainer to understand that at least half of the soldiers will be trying to fuck those soldierettes.
i really see no point in this but I do see it for what it really is.
Allow them in combat, then watch the discrimination and sexual harrassment lawsuit roll in by the truckload.
then the media can have a field day and The White house can grandstand and spend millions "fixing the problem"

Years back I worked for a Yugoslavian woman that was handed a gun at 14. It was at the time of the breakup and she was trained if needed. She got out of there before shit broke out but her brothers fought. Tough lady with a body to die for.
