I hear that back in the 1970's porn had a much longer shelf life; that you'd jerk off to porn from the 50's and 60's. Nowadays porn is outdated after practically a week of its release, it seems.

I highly doubt that there's that many people getting free porn access. I'm sure most of the people who look at porn online buy their subscriptions to the sites they want.
The internet is not "bad" for porn because there wouldn't be nearly as many people into this if they had to get off their ass, go to the store and search all over the city for the shit they want to see. Everything that has anything to do with porn is on the internet.

Agreed slik, before net, the industry's customer base was restricted to guys who had the balls to walk into a porn shop and buy the stuff, now every middle aged guy with a credit card can have it discreetly piped into his home or office. Internet bad for porn? What are you nuts?
P.S Also, look at how many people are into porn compared to the pre-net age, there's thousands! And any chick with even the tiniest bit of form and a webcam can make her own pornsite, I'm sure you can all think of a few.

In the U.S. Definitely in a sink hole, slowly being pulled under. It wouldn't survive. That's why its so important to fight to keep it on the net. If we loose this battle then the 'black market' with outrageous prices and dark alley dealings of the past will be our only source.
That's true. On the other hand though (no pun intended), times indeed have changed in the porn industry as we know it that's not on the net. To get an adult store on the corner in a U.S. community is almost impossible these days. Communities have succeeded in closing most and blocking entrepreneurs wanting to open shops before the 'We're Opened" sign is up. These facts lead me to think it slowly it will become the same way in other countries and yes I think the internet is the only hope we have of saving the 'openly available' porn we have the right to view. IMHO only of course.

I'm old enough to remember porn before the internet. It wasn't much different then.
All the internet has done is make it easier.
But like I said I remember life without it. It was amazing, there was this thing called TV and also telephones, newspapers, magazines, videos, radio and even this thing called talking.
Oh the good old days. I wonder what it would be like with them nowdays LOL!
