I'm a non-technical person, so bear with me. I'm trying to get a wireless and wired connection at the same time - my friend gave me a Dynex wireless router. I am doing what all the Youtube vids are telling me- I am taking the one wire coming out of the ethernet port out of the cable modem, and plugging it in the Modem port (far left side) of the router. Then I took the one end of the separate ethernet wire, plugged it in the computer, and then the other end in to one of the other four router ports that say "wired connection". Why am I being kicked off my wired connection? Do I need to setup the connection through the CD first - or the 92.1.000 (whatever #) website first? What am I doing wrong??
