Will texas leave the union

Take a Hit, Spunker!
Actually, Texas has a unique situation in that when they joined the Union their right to return to Republic status was left intact...Texas could legally leave the Union, but there are treaties ceding vast territories to Native Americans that were supposed to be forever, and we all know how that turned out.

Siighh, you asked for it..

Perry: "Texas is a unique place, when we came into the Union in 1845 one of the issues was that would would be able to leave if we decide to do that." He follows that up by saying, "If Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, who knows what may come of that"

This is an urban legends with no basis in fact. The Texas State Library & Archives Commission did some research and posted their results here:

Hmmm......treaties ceding vast territories to Native Americans. Last time I checked, they were here first. If anyone has the right to not want Texas or any state here anymore, it's the Indians. The only reason why people, namely white people settled here is they killed or forced all the Indians out of the land that they rightfully owned and still own in my opinion.

"Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in."

Seriously though, secessions are never pretty. Just look at The American Civil War, Biafra, Yugoslavia... Any state governor who lets such an idea out in the open and allows it to gain this much traction is damn irresponsible IMO

Ahh... but when the US government utterly and completely ignores states rights and rams down the taxpayers and state officials throats its rules and regulations, then what alternative would a state have when so affected by a government that largely ignores the US Constitution.

Our President's name is Barack Obama Lincoln from Illinois. And our army is called the Union Army ! We will march all the way to Mexico City !

The Regiments of Massachusetts is ready to march into Texas to celebrate the upcoming Patriots' Day on next Monday ! We will expand United States to make Texas the biggest state in the world by including Mexico.

Monday, Patriots' Day, which marks the Revolutionary War battle of Lexington and Concord. Patriots' Day is a public holiday here in Massachusetts

it just scary to think of it i mean wtf is going on with the world

Come on Guys........for get about Texas, nothing will happen Texas will remain part of the United states just have fun and spread love and if not then spread the rep if you have it..........ha ha ha .......:glugglug:

Facetious

Moderated
Remember, Texas was a nation before they became a state :D

You gotta love those signs posted along the hiway between San Antone and Austin, and probably all around the state that read :

................................."DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS"

The New Braunfels Oktoberfest was Grrrrreat ! BTW

Socialism is not what the Constitution is based on.

Can you give proof of that. I don't really see in the Constitution where there must be a capitalist economic system. Could you show it to me. On the other hand I do see parts where it authorizes congress to regulate interstate commerce, which is what pretty much what 99.9% of it is today unlike in the past. Of course it also has the power to regulate international commerce to.

Yes, a lot of our founders liked the idea of capitalism. Of course back then there wasn't really an economy above a little bit of trade here and there with raw good to foreign countries. Much of the work was done by slaves but that is another matter. Most of the country was an agrarian nation, and big business and the problems and corruption it brings didn't exist. There was no stock market. You will have to excuse me if I don’t find some blacksmith pounding away at a forge to sell stuff to the people in town or a farmer just living off what me grew and selling the little left over as the same as Wal-Mart or Exon-Moble.

Conspiracy...
Rick Perry addresses a tax day "tea party," telling the audience that Washington is overturning their rights, and ignoring limits on federal power.

He is correct. They are overstepping their bounds and every state should think about this. Also, stop taking government aid.

We really don't need Washington DC. ll we need are local and state governments.

I hope so. Good riddance. One less red state to worry about.

Originally the states that voted Democrat were red.
Because they are Communist.

I don't agree that Regan was a true Conservative or a Conservative at all.

His nickname wasn't Red Ronny for nothing.

I think the civil war pretty much ensured no state will be allowed to leave the union. NY city could survive as a city state, but thats about it.

I would rather see my state use it's ability to divide itself up in to 4 seperate mini-states so that Texas would have 6 Senators instead of only 2.
Now that would seriously fuck up the socialists.

I am not anti-europe, i just think that America is trying to beocme like europe with its socialist type of policies. be a leader not a follower

Some might actually see your remark that Europe IS actually leading since, you know, Europe is like a thousand years older than America and has seen a lot more than the U.S. has.

All America has become since hmm...1970..is just a series of economic bubbles that build up over time, then burst, leaving recessions in their wake. This present economic crisis is more intense than the ones in the 70s, 80s, 90s.

Maybe our version of Capitalism (by way of Globalization) doesn't work anymore and needs to be fixed. Or we'll just turn the economy around again and another economic bubble will begin to form...

The next economic bubble will most likely form in China this time...or India. Take your pick.

Can't argue with that. For the past eight years we've definitley run shit into the ground

If you're that strongly anti-Europe maybe you should consider boycotting this website since its based in Europe.

Which would explain the lack of "freedom of speech."

Which would explain the lack of "freedom of speech."

I can't agree with that, galactic.
This is privately owned board. We are the owner's guests. The restrictions on our speech aren't any more stringent than they would be if this board were a privately owned U.S. board.

Texas will not secede. The question is, will Washington D.C. leave the union?

Aww. can't we get rid of both?

True, Texans are some of the nicest people that I've ever met. But they are also some of the dumbest.

The same can be said for Californians.

OOh, can we throw that in there as part of the deal too?
