It's Jenna Jameson. Always has been, always will be. Unless everyone has heard the girl's name, both inside and outside of porn, she will never be "the Michael Jordan of porn". It isn't about looks, talent, blow job skills, or how many dudes she's fucked. It's popularity. I knew who Jenna Jameson was before I knew a single other person's name in porn, as have thousands, millions of other people. Taylor Rain? No idea who she is, and I'm not about to go out of my way to find her. Porn stars are a dime a dozen these days, so it's going to be really tough for any girl to reach the heights of Jenna, when girls like her were an extreme rarity. If you're one of the first people to do something (discovering atoms, inventing electricity, being the first to make a slam dunk, the start of rock music, porn, being on the cover of the first magazines, etc.) then your name is going down throughout all of history. Everyone will know you. If you're just another pretty face in a long line of thousands and thousands of other pretty faces? Nope.
Do you know who the best table tennis player of all time is? As was pointed out earlier in this thread, David Beckham is more popular than players than are/were better than he (I wouldn't know, that's not my bag). I made the distinction between popularity and and being the best ever at your craft, but both are subject to opinion of course. MustBeGood had it right, this is a stupid thread. How do you determine the "best ever" at porn? We're not talking points-per-game here. This was just a not-so-veiled ode to my favorite porn star Taylor Rain. You know what? fuck it. I'm not gonna concede anything here. Just look at the body of work. If there was a porn Hall of Fame, Taylor Rain would be first ballot, except there'd be a bust of her ass on display. You can't deny this girl was a superstar in her era.

Because currently my fav three of all time are Marie luv, sasha rose in my avi and nicole ray will never be in a top 100 of all time. But as I said with gonzo it lead to an explosion of companies and talent and fav will differ in all time name reco except obvious in gonzo IMO Bree Olson, Jenna Haze, and Silvia Saint that would show up in a nation wide poll top 25.

No. This is like comparing apples to a new car. With Michael Jordan's career we have lots of footage and stats that back up the fact he was the greatest ever. Whereas with porn its subjective and a matter of taste and opinion. I have my thoughts on who was the best in porn, the next guy/girl has theirs, etc etc.

I agree with Harley also. Jenna Jameson is #23 until someone else can exceed her "celebrity" by being even more famous worldwide.
Well, she certainly isn't "the best ever"...not even sure she's the best in her own era. I would give that to Jenna Haze.

From a popularity point I will argue that Linda Lovelace is the most famous/infamous porn star that the mainstream person would know and did this without social media.

Not to belabour the point, but again, I used the Jordan analogy not to compare the popularity or the accolades but as an example of being the best ever at what you do/did. I could've used Bruce Lee and meant the same thing.
There could be some ancient dude tucked away in some monastery in the Himalayas who is the most skilled swordsmith ever but no one knows who the hell he is. I'd still say he was the Michael Jordan of sword-making.
