In all the years I spent in South Africa, I did not come across a lot of people that 'hate America.'
Half of Portland Oregon is Asian.
There are also a lot of Latino people here, just trying to earn a living. A lot of them are quite cool too.

This is nice, but a few hundred people are not indicative of the general consensus of the attitude towards the American establishment. What shocks me is that no one said a thing about the picture. If you take a course in journalism, or rhetoric you might see why this picture goes along with the title.

You should amend the title to why pussies hate America. And it is inaccurate to depict the entire world as hating this great country.
Most of sub Saharan Africa loves what America has done with humanitarian aid including sending antiviral medication, providing mosquito netting in areas where malaria is prevalent and the effort to stem the tide of AIDS. And you know who those people affected by all these things appreciate? George W. Bush.
Wow...that guy really is an asshole, what with all his influence and power to assist people half a world away. There was an article in Time magazine a couple of months ago explaining how for the most part W is appreciated in much of the third world for his efforts.
Now that Obama has been anointed most of the world's press has bent over backwards to make him appear to be the second coming and that we all must now be more enlightened because of the electoral results. Which is hilarious to me because he alienated our trade partners by ensuring the money in the stimulus package was spent on American goods.
Frankly, if most of the world thinks we as a nation are spoiled I could care less. Find ways to improve your own lives and shut the fuck up.

Africa is a cash cow for the U.S., and all of this 'aid' you say that is given rarely if ever actually reaches the people. You are right about a lot of the people being in favor of American businesses coming in, stealing their land, undercutting their agricultural production, and putting them to work in factories, but hey not everyone is as educated as Americans now are they?
I think that most of the world is a lot smarter than most people (in America) give them credit for. Pretty much no one hates "America", recognizing that a country is made up of distinct and often conflicting entities. Most people disapprove of the policies of the American government and understand that it is out of touch and unrepresentative of the majority of it's citizens... but looking at the numbers, most Americans feel that way too. It's something like 3 out of 4 people say that they don't trust the government.

Unfortunately, and this ignorance, or unwillingness to step outside the two party system is what's destroying the country. We have people like in the above picture versus the 'pussies, as the other poster so eloquently describes the opposition parties, which now as far as I can tell no longer exist except for a select few members of congress who have the guts to call out Obama on his fork tongued imperialism.
There are a lot of legitimate reasons why people might dislike the USA....That photo isn't among them. It's just a guy taking a photo opportunity either because it's funny or he thinks it looks cool. Who cares? Whould I have done it? No, because it's kind of lame, but it's far from something to care about.

There is a degree of anti-American feeling throughout the world but on the whole it's to do with its foreign policy.The US is seen as a world bully which goes round flexing its muscles knowing nobody can do anything about it.A similar feeling existed regarding Victorian Britain and like the Americans today we saw ourselves as the good guys.

well more like people might hate the politics, or maybe the armed forces, or a foreign policy.... but given the opportunity, don't count out some of these "haters" wouldn't kidnap you and behead you... yeah they are smart, I'll give them that... but we could say the same thing about France, Iran, and North Korea... It's always going to be a Love-Hate relationship between governments, and the people that support them. That's my :2 cents:

it may be because of intolerable acts of solitary manslaughter. When they're close friends and family get murdered in the street by the citizens of our beloved country. That's why we have socialism contraversey and activist who stand out against whatever is at hand. People don't know what to believe. In other countrys, where it is peaceful, is where I would love to be. I think, America has become full of indignity and it won't ever be the same. Now that we have a new president, I don't think it will change the face of America. Although it does have its regulay. I think, we needed a chance. But we have needed a chance for years. And not only is everyone who can jumping on the train. Its good for the self asteem of our nations. Although, they have not been the right approach. It could of been taking down a different path. Whats wrong with America? It's self descriminate, and that will lose us the world war of 2023. Although, I am just guessing. The way things look. Who wouldn't want to take over the world, if we let them right in. Theres always someone trying to munipulate and take the upper hand. Its possible, there could be world peace. What will it take? a perfect economy, for everything to be spread equally, and for each other to live as if we can get the proper education, and health suppires, and look no other as the common person who is just walking down the street. If we only changed our economy and not our technology, things would be a lot smoother. That is how communism is still alive and well. Although, who is to say if we live or die.

Oh by the way, I hate America because we're full of dumb rednecks whacked out on Crystal Meth. And some of those rednecks vote. Because our government no longer acts in any capacity that it was originally intended for when this great independent republic was formed. It is now a nation full of pussies dependent on their elected egomaniacs to take care of them. Because me and millions like me mind our own fucking business while earning money. And then that money is embezzled from us unconstitutionally and spent by stupid fat lazy politicians in ways that have nothing to do with a) national security b) infrastructure c) common sense, or d) the common good. Because republicans are puritan authoritarian pricks that don't want me to gamble, watch porn, or smoke weed. Because democrats are opportunistic weaklings hell bent on making me dependent on them in some way for the rest of my life.
