Why is Obama so liked still?

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos
They told bp to stop drilling the guys on the platform due to faulty equipment, but greedy bp said KEEP DRILLING you worthless scum. Well pay your wrongful death suits.

And so the men at the "coal face" kept drilling with the knowledge that they could say "I was only following orders", which as we all now know is no excuse at all. There are plenty of guilty verdicts at war crime trials where that was tried.

Executives can only make decisions based on information received. If they were told "the platform will catastrophically explode if we do not shut down for maintenance", I have the feeling that said exec would say - "You better shut it down and fix it then", not "Keep going because we want to flood the whole area in oil and cause an environmental disaster, the like of which has never before been seen, costing both BP and USA billions of dollars and putting thousands out of work".

So Dutch-owned Shell is no longer an ally?
So Venezuelan-owned Citgo is no longer an ally? Oh wait...probably not. ;)

Anyway, for the President, you're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't. It doesn't matter if he's a Democrat or Republican.

Americana is all about popular culture. In a country where the highest-rated TV programs are reality-based trash, and the most popular news-stories are about useless stars (i.e., Lindsey Lohan), it did not shock me that this man was elected President. And it will not shock me if Sarah Palin gets the Republican nod in 2012.

Actually Shell Oil isn't entirely Dutch owned and operated. They have a 50/50 partnership with Saudi Aramco... which is owned and operated by the Saudi Arabian government. Hmmm... just how many of hijacker terrorists involved with the WTC attack happened to be of Saudi descent???

And Hugo Chavez (owner of Citgo) is hardly an Ally of the US. I doubt anyone would really argue that.

Hiliary 2020
because he represents the ghetto crowd and the leftists

yeah and the naive and brainwashed by the media.

sadly , these fools now have the numbers.
so its all downhill from here, but i hope not.
One reason I got out of that country.
It made me sick to see everyday the constant decay of everything that was once good not long ago.

Why is that pretty much everything in the usa has gone downhill?
schools, neighborhoods, family's, taxes, cost of living, so many people with shitty attitudes ect ect ect ect.
Even trying to find a woman who is not a total domineering bitch is a hard task.
has anything significant improved in about the last 20 years?
Is it all the governments fault?
In a way I guess it is, but in a way the people have caused it also.

Obama is still liked because the media controls so much of how candidates and politicians are perceived. MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, etc. can put an image out that the american public takes as truth.

You could ask why people still like George W Bush, Ronald Reagan, the Tea Party and bunch of other bullshit political stuff? People like what they like........often for no reason at all.:yinyang:

and you could say why don't they like them.... the answer is THE MEDIA and its agenda.... and their liberal pawns

What is the media in it's agenda omitting about Obama that would be changing the minds of people then?

But honestly, that was Bush....it's been reported repeatedly how after 9/11 stories about Bush, his administration and policies were sugar coated if negative and if too negative simply discouraged by editors from being reported at all.

Is there ANYTHING you can point to that shows the media is reporting anything other than news or discouraging negative stories about Obama????

At some point, don't you have to at least back wild accusations with a single fact?

Just one.

They knew the gear was damaged though. Wouldn't that be your first time to stop it? They didn't stop it because they were behind schedule. They fault this over with Trans. and bp won the argument.

you must have either short term memory or a selective one (which means you remember what you what to). But no, your just a pundunt fool, I remember daily updates on Bush's approval rating's when they around obamers now.... but nothing...... chris mattews and oldermanass were yanked from anchoring cause they were so f'ing stuipid libs......ahhhh shucks lets just bypass all your shitty little links and wait a couple years......... And then we can talk about reality.

When a president is heading toward record lows in approval it will be reported on as such....If it's about reporting "news", that is news. They were reporting it just as much to see if it was continuing to go down as to see if it was going back up. They were report similarly about Congress' approval ratings too....

If Obama's goes to record lows, they will report that too just as if it goes to record highs. Why? Because it will be news. But I'm sure in the world of "everything is a liberal media conspiracy"....your types can spin either one of those as the either the "liberal media" trying to get his numbers higher if they're low or to remain higher if they're high.

Mathews and Olbermann were replaced as election night anchors...because they are liberally biased commentators. Being political commentators and can gush over a politician as much as Hannity, O'Reilly or any of the other biased pie holes Fox employs. But MSNBC correctly wanted their election night coverage to be or appear to be objective. So they took them off of it. But in the end, doesn't MSNBC's action in this regard cut against your liberal media claim??? For this story to work for your angle wouldn't MSNBC have left "liberals" to anchor their election night coverage with a bias??

But this thread is why is Obama "still" liked....presumably you have something current and relevant to support your claim against the "liberal media" managing this circumstance.

he's so liked because he is black.
the world still hasn't got over that

You dont like someone because they are black and he is the first black president, after all the shit black people went through in America that is an enormous accomplishment that "the world" wont just "get over".

Why is he still liked? Because he's the best thing that's ever happened to America!

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America's future. He is the best thing ever.

Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
He was on the cover and featured in an Amazing Spiderman comic!

Wait, wait, wait... is that how the song goes? I've been singing "My lambo's black, my President is blue..." for the longest time! We have a black President? When did this happen? This is the first I'm hearing of this...

Considering the dumb decisions that have been made by Marvel, how his comics have gone downhill, and how they destroyed Spider-man's character in the last few years that's not really that great of a thing.

Around 15+ years ago it might have been a small honor to have.

Careful there, Mega.
You're asking these people to attempt to think logically, which could quite possibly cause their heads to explode.
