Girls...
Cant live with them, cant live without them.
I'm basically just going to vent my spleen on this one and if anyone has anything constructive to suggest by all means do it.
Met a girl on Thursday, spent a bit of time smooching, then went back to hers and spent the night, no funny business though ;-).
Arranged to meet her again on Monday, my first date for a LONG time, and thought the night went really well. We chatted a lot, broke the ice, had a laugh. Way before closing time she decided to leave, and we'd go back to hers. Got in a cab, and ended up back at hers.
Now, Thursday I was nervous and a little unsure (its been a while, believe me), but Monday I was calm and ready to go for it. Turns out she couldnt for reasons which I'm not going into but rest assured they are important to her and I am not for a second going to go against her wishes or pressure anyone into doing something they dont feel ready to do. So please, no 'he couldnt get it up' jokes or anything of that nature.
Anyhow, we spent the night together again, and it seemed very affectionate and genuine. She told me she really liked me and all that, that I was sweet, caring and all that other mushy stuff, lol. When we woke up the next morning she had to scoot off to a lecture, but we parted on very good terms, and had a laugh, a joke and a kiss just beforehand. I got the feeling that we had made great progress that night, especially considering how nervous I was at the start of the date.
THEN, later on I text to see if she enjoyed herself and to see when we were going to see each other again and I get the old 'I dont want to see anyone right now, be nice to see you around' fob off. I replied, explaining that i didnt want to get married or anything just yet, basically joking about the situation, and saying that I thought she was great and that i enjoyed her company but that i dont want to be a pest and that its up to her what happens from here. No reply...
I just dont know what to think now, I'm confused and more than a little disappointed. Dunno whether to text again tomorrow and ask her to elaborate on the 'see you around' bit. You know, is that a complete fob off, or an invitation to remain friends, or just to take things at a gentler pace. I'd really like to know. I cant see it being the fob off really because there was no reason for her to do that - I am a VERY unconfident and unassured person naturally but even I thought that she liked me. I was thinking of inviting her to meet up later in the week for an afternoon coffee or something to chat over it, but like I say I dont want to be 'that-guy-who-cant-take-a-hint', and the nuisance who everyone must have had following them round at some point in their lives.
Anyway, dont ask me why I posted this on here. I guess it was just to get it off my chest, or maybe for some assurance that things generally tend to work themselves out. Like I say, if anyone wants to post a comment or even some friendly advice, feel free. Cheers, Felty.
