The funny thing is the more I travel to different areas, the more I like the cops in my area. The funny thing about the police here, there isn't a lot of serious crimes. So when there is, every police officer shows up. When I go to other parts of the area, I see what the police do or don't do and I ask people why do they put up with this BS. I normaly get a blank stare similar to a wildebeest before it's attacked by predators.
I agreed with some of the other posters in there are good and bad ones. As with most things, you noticed the bad ones more than the good ones until you see in the news they were killed or injured while performing their duty.

Because most, not all, are dicks that's why. They are on a power trip. They think that what they say is right and you are wrong. And they don't like being put in their place either. So they should think before they run their mouths. They wear the uniform so you should do as they say not as they do. That's their train of though. Yes, well, lead by example or don't lead at all. Thing is, the female officers are twenty times worse than the male officers. They act like they are the alpha female types. Like they need to show how tough they are or something. This is going by UK standards. I don't know what it's like elsewhere. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same everywhere else.

Because the cop stops you punishing the rich for breaking the law and getting away with it, yet ensures you yourself cannot get away with breaking the law.
I think people hate cops because they dont allow them to whatever the hell they want.Everyoe loves the cop that let's them slide but hate the cops that does there job.But no matter the problem the first people they want to save there asses are who?the cops.

No Personal experience but going by what I see on movies and TV,cops in US treat people with respect,would even call them sir/madam and wont slap/beat them unnecessarily even if you commit murder.so they all are good cops.
If you want to see how bad cops can be and how much they can misuse their power, come to my land,forget sir/madam,they call you "motherfucker" in local language and can slap you ,beat you with rod in full public if they want to and surely will if you committed a crime even a small one.

In England I trust the police, tho they occasionally behave unethically around protests.
In Russia you just avoid them; if Russian police spot you as a foreigner they'll accuse you of a crime, then there's a "fine" which you need to pay if you don't wanna spend a night in Russian jail.
Seriously, the police were the thing that scared me the most when I lived in Russia.
