Why can't we edit our existing threads after ten minutes?

Love freeones but is it that big a thing to just let us edit posts whenever we want instead of locking it for good after ten minutes?

Friendly question. Would likely make things easier on mods, who work so hard for everyone, and cut down on some extra posts.

Thanks for reading.

It's just how the board works and has been doing so for years. It's not going to change unless maybe we decide in the future to use different board software.

Appreciate the kind answer, never saw one board that did not have that feature to edit whenever you want or a ten minute posting limit, and I'm talking boards around as long as freeones with adult content or any kind of internet forum. I have been here since 2006, and know software was upgraded to a sharper look but mostly unchanged and looks great.

Maybe it's an easy update for your software company they can include or just unchecking a setting to turns off the clock, it is an excellent feature to provide freeones on the surface.
Thanks for responding.

To be honest, there's hardly any edit-my-post requests. It's the least of the things we deal with on a regular basis.

And yeah, the potential for abusing the edit actually frightens me if I think about it.

Just to throw out some numbers, on average I put up between 30-50 new posts per day. Out of that, if the edit limit was set to something like 30 minutes instead of 10 minutes, I would likely lose 5-10 posts per day because I could still edit and add instead of putting up a new post for new links/images. That makes it around 15-20% fewer posts on the board coming from me if the limit was set to 30 minutes. Now these numbers apply to me only but are likely in the ballpark with other heavy link/image posters. For people who largely use the board to spew opinions and argue with each other, I would think the number would be smaller.
