Why are tomatoes red?

None of you knew this. And now you do.

But why does my latest grocery store purchased watermelon have a pink heart instead of red?

Fucking Monsanto, you just never know what those mad scientists are up to these days with their genetic manipulation of our food supply.

Nice report btw, yo deeves!

So now that they know the genome of the tomato, are they going to screw it up the same way they screwed up the rose?

(In order to make the rose last longer they made changes to it. But those changes made it so the rose has very little scent.)

Nice.

I'm growing both purple and green tomatoes this year, in addition to red. Just for shits and giggles. I guess they're per-meteorite left-overs?

ha! thats true! in fact, heirlooms taste a lot better.
Yes they are.

They all ready started with making them more firmer for longer transport and duration, so they ruined the taste and smell, but fortunately my uncle took some old seed varieties from my grandfather long time ago so who cares for new varieties.:thefinger

Very true. But now that they have the genome code, how much "good" are they able to do now?

Next step in genome manipulation.
