Why are so many people obsessed with porn stars?

I would definitely say that I do not obsess over porn stars or even porn... but I am on this site a few times a month.
I don't come to see any one porn star over another -- I read the "watch this video!" forums and it's all for fantasy. It's stuff I would probably never do in real life but I get off on watching.
Along the same lines... We go to the movies, we watch murder, we watch betrayal, we watch fantasy love stories... it's not something we go home and do, but we pay $10.00 for a movie ticket to enjoy the show. People even obsess over actors and actresses (People magazine? TMZ anyone?). No?
