maybe it originated in brazil coz its so hot women shaved off most of their pubes due to it gettin far too cheesy down there

I think it probably started because of the bikinis, they kept getting smaller more narrow in the back "thongs" and the front was sure to follow.

Had to shave to keep up with the fashion I suppose.

That would be my guess as well. Most of those skimpy outfits like thongs are associated with Brazilian women or, at least, they should be.
