Who is the king of R&B music?

The "King" and the best singer(s) are two different thing..

Usher is pretty much on top right now.

But the best singers are between Brian McKnight and Maxwell IMO.

I give props to B McKnight...we played in the same flag football league some years ago and he's got skills..(football).

R.Kelly because R&B in my opinion is not good anymore. I mean we have NeYo who is a great singer/songwriter Usher and trey songz but thats about it. Chris Brown is a better entertainer than singer, but he will mature like usher did with his music.

what the fuck you lookin at?
Rhythm and blues is blues music played with electric instruments and horns.

so in other words computer generated? Or sound machine?

True R&B is hard to find. Boyz II Men where the last really good Rythm and Blues group.

Marvin Gaye is king.

If the torch had to be passed, then I'd like to think it'd go to Cee Lo. He's the fucking man.

Ne-Yo/Chris Brown/Usher same difference.

Yeah pretty much.

R&B is a broad genre so if you're talking adult contemporary, then Maxwell is making his move on the crown but if you're talking the more popular hiphop influenced R&B Kells is still king until somebody takes it (piss and all)

The real competition is who is the queen: Beyonce/Mary J/Alicia Keys?

For me, R&B has been dead for some time.

I like Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Sly and The Family Stone... That kind of music isn't ever going to be around again.

It's good to be the king...
Marvin Gaye, Issac Hayes (natch), Otis Redding, Al Green

Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. He has written, performed and produced more hits than anyone in the modern R&B era.:yinyang:

The last true R&B pretty much died in the 70s... I miss the old-school MoTown stuff.
