I would appraise that t.l. is the exception today, particularly when there are forces (influences) that encourage the virtues of a "monogamaniacal" culture.
The idea of commitment is so foreign to most people. Women have it easier than guys, for they "can" just as easy run off with their girlfriend for "relief" and they often do. This certainly wasn't the case as recent as ten years ago. :dunno: 20 - 25 years ago it was unheard of ! How has the bi female lifestyle become so prominent ? Ans - Nutty and decadent fashion mags ! That's how ! This certainly plays a central role as to why there are fewer happy committed M + F couples today, IMO.
The real question is - how impressionable are we in the face of influence, negative or otherwise ?

I agree. True love doesn't mean you never argue, never disagree, never have moments of sadness. You have all those things, but the love conquers it all and reigns supreme. I believe true love can last through anything.

There is true love. More often than not, it's not romantic because romance expects something in return. True love is selflessness and sacrifice. True love should be a decision that once made is pursued with resolve. It is not borne by hormones or whatever chemicals you have in your body. It is centered in your head and not in your heart. It is cerebral, not emotional.
