I was going to read the article, but when I clicked on it, the page said it was no longer there. Anyway...

When I was probably 10 years old, I was staying overnight at a family friend's house. I woke up in the middle of the night to see two of the sisters that lived there just standing over the bed smoking cigarettes. I couldn't see their faces, but I could see the silhouettes and the ends of their smokes lit up. They were just standing there, side by side, not talking, looking at us as we slept. The next morning when I asked them about it, they said they hadn't been in that room at all the night before. Creepy.

Once, during the day, I was just sitting in my room writing or something. I had a candle lit. All of a sudden, while I was on the other side of the room, the candle just blew up into little pieces. Scared the shit out of me!

When I was maybe 12, my mom and I were the only two home and I was going to bed. When I went to my room and was just about to get ready to hop into bed, there was a loud pounding on my closet doors from the inside. They were closed. I was scared shitless, but I opened them to see if something might have fallen off the shelf. Nope. Everything was in its place. I went down our 2 flights of stairs to tell my mom and ask her to come check it out, but she dismissed it and told me to stop lying and go to bed.

There were a few other instances and of course scary movies make it difficult for me to go to bed sometimes (though I LOVE scary movies!). I'm not so sure if I believe in ghosts. Maybe a little... What's scary is not knowing what's out there.

for me personally. i respect folks who do, as i know they are absolutely convinced in their experiences....however i cant get over the fact that there is nothing rational at all about ghosts or their existence.

they do make for awesome stories...the human mind is a wonderfully creative thing.

So the article... You may have to copy and paste (sorry) because apparently the whole thing isn't hyperlinking. It has something to do with all the hyphens. My apologies.

Hmm... Well the first one's easy, textbook DMT release. As for the candle, possibly wind or even sound waves. Now the third, you're not gonna believe me but this happens all the time at my roommates house and it isn't from the inside. It sounds crazy, but wind funnels, travels and turns. the first time it happened to me I freaked out too and also checked the closet. I was like WTF so I told my roommates and they laughed and explained to me that's what happens when u leave the door to the sunroom open.

There's already some great posts in this thread, and I'll bet there's gonna be more (assuming it doesn't fly off the rails and head into Big Foot territory). I love ghost story threads.

Seeing the sisters standing by the bed is pretty high on the creepy scale. When I as a kid, probably four or five years old, both me and an older sister of mine had separate incidences where we woke up in the middle of the night and saw a green, glowing "little boy" wearing a baseball cap rummaging through a dresser drawer. Despite how young we were at the time, we both vividly remember seeing this.

I have more stories, but I don't want to use them all up right away.

Since this is your thread, I'm going to be polite.

It's a "ghost story" thread. Nobody wants to hear about DMT release, regardless of how practical of an explanation that may be.

Don't make me kick your ass away from the campfire.

(I'm taking your smore and throwing it into the fire, just to slap some sense into you.)

When did I ever say "post your ghost stories" Hondatard? Wait, did I spell that wrong? Oh well, same person.

"Well, I believe in the soul... the cock...the pussy... the small of a woman's back... the hangin' curveball... high fiber... good scotch... that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent overrated crap... I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a Constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. Goodnight."

The ghost of Christmas past came to see me once... But I was too busy trying to set up my new laptop that I'd got for Christmas to pay the fucker any attention.
