Who has seen Dark Phoenix?

I thought it was mediocre. Average at best. I sorta regret watching it. I should have saved my money for Spider-Man: Far From Home next month. Well at least that is the last Marvel movie FOX will ever make. I hope Disney can reboot the X-Men series and make a fresh start. I haven't seen a great X-Men movie in years. Did you like the movie? Thoughts?

Sophie Turner was fantastic in the movie but the changes made to the villians especially brought it down for me. Prof. X being characterized more towards being a selfish asshole also didn't sit well with me and even Michael Fassbender's performance as Magneto in this one was hit or miss. This movie was doomed from the beginning though with reshoots, it placing right after Captain Marvel and Endgame and people knowing this is the last kick at the can for Fox put it in a no win situation. This X-Men universe is at a real disadvantage as Wolverine is the only real solo player of the group so it's harder to build up the characters within the team by giving them individual movies. This results in nothing feeling earned especially in this movie. It's tough to build this version of Jean Grey up when she was only in two other movies.

To this day Fox's first attempt at the story in the animated series is the best version put to screen.

Nope. I have no desire to see another Marvel movie since they dropped that shitty Captain Marvel on our heads.

And yet it made over $1 billion. I thought Captain Marvel was good. It wasn't a bad movie and people would be thinking otherwise if it weren't for Brie Larson's comments and have all the Caucasian males having a fit.

I thought Captain Marvel was pretty good too and I agree that the only reason the majority of men hated it was because of Brie Larson. Every forum or commentary I see on the movie, the only thing they talk about is how Brie hates men.

Not the best nor the worst.

It was directed with Simon Kinberg, the guy who was with the franchise since X-Men back in 2000, he tried to make it good, good intention, wrong execution.
The reshoots and release delays didn't help, the same thing happened with Solo: A Star Wars Story that featured Sophie Turner's GOT alum Amelia Clark.

Disney didn't care, they made $3 billions with the Avengers movies earlier, so they let this poor movie to its sad destiny.

In the last one, I couldn't take my eyes off Sophie Turner, in this one she looks weird and her voice is like she had a cold before every shoot.
Jessica Chastain's role was reshot, and while she isn't a beauty queen, she looks terrible in the movie.
The rest of the cast is struggling on what to do, only Jennifer Lawrence gets a way out (spoiler: see the trailer).

I guess that it deserves a look.
