A. Attraction to black men who LOVES a nice booty

B. Hip hop culture which glorifies big boobs and butts

C. A cycle in cosmopolitian magazines where one day thin is in, and the next voluptuous is the new pink

D. Inadvertanty getting big without trying or wanting to

E. Other

I don't know, I suppose there has always been an attraction to the big ass. Look at old paintings of Greek goddesses; they had pretty big asses. Cartoon characters have had a bigger ass (Jessica Rabbit is a good example). I suppose it has always been something that defines how a woman looks. Maybe the big ass is not the fad, maybe it has been the norm and that the skinny ass was the fad. That just blew your mind didn't it?

I don't know if it's just regional (I don't think it is), but you would have to be blind to not noticed that in the last few years white women went from flat to phat. I don't mean heavy, but I'm talking a curvy and round butt which has always been common among black women and until recently very rare among everyday white women.

Well isn't this a bit like saying "when did breasts become popular" just because they didn't have silicone implants in the 50's. These days everything is bigger and butts isn't an exception. I'm pretty sure big asses have been considered sexy throughout history - it's more biological than cultural.

I, on the other hand, don't really care for asses. Compared to tits they are boring and not nearly as beautiful. I just want girls to have a healthy rear and not totally flat (which to me is an indication of someone being too slim).

Not when did it become popular, but when did it become a reality? I was just curious as to why all of a sudden. Was it a change in mind set of white women as to what is fat? Is this a cyclical trend? Just starting conversation.

Speaking of only New jersey, I,ve noticed in the last 5-10 years that women in general are getting larger and larger. Its actually kind of difficult to even find a fit/thin girl there these days. Even most teenage girls have a weight problem. Its true, just take a walk through any supermarket or anyplace people congregate there.
Not trying to be insulting, just my observation over the past few years.
So because large women are part of the norm today, they are also being considered attractive by many where as not long ago they were just considered fat.
