Left-Wing

But there's a big difference between USA's politics and the rest of the world :

What is considered as Lefet-Wing in the USA is not left-wing as we knbow it in Europe, It's not some kind of "Labour", it's more like some middle-right wing.

Politicians like Nicolas Sarkozy or Angel Merkel are considered to be right-wing in Europe, but in the US, they woul be considered as Left-wing. They are more like democrative. Rather than someone like Silvio Berlusconi would be considred has right-wing, more like conservative.

I'd have to agree with that. I'm aware that the OP states where you would stand on American politics, but just as an extra flavour, Left-wing American's may very well find themselves right-wing in other parts of the world. To me, right-wing America has quite a lot in common with it's enemies (Iranian & N. Korean governments) than it does with right-wing western governments - I'm referring more to sovereign attitudes and sensibility of legitimacy.

Right wing conservative.....and goddamn proud of it

How come Americans when asked a simple question like where do you come from? or Which wing do you belong to? & Iv seen it in a few other threads as well , always seem to answer , goddamn proud of it after there answer , why , why , why?

Cant yz just say Right Wing , America or Chubby Chaser

PS whats the difference between left & right I dont pay much attention to American politics?

One thing that strikes my about the US is that you all just love to fight amongst each other, each being more proud than the other of being right or left winged. You country is in shambles and instead of finding a common ground and unite yourselves to tackle the problems you're facing you just keep on bickering.

I guess because in America, if you are "republican" the media/liberal slime smear you out as a hate merchant most of the time. :dunno:

United fronts tend to emerge when their is a common enemy, so to speak. War for example is usually a safe bet …at least that's war in the traditional sense when there's two neighbouring countries going at it.

Some think the US is more interested in itself and not very outward looking, such views are probably relative to the size of the country, both geographical and populace.

Chicken wing

We aren't so bad, really. We just aren't dumb enough to die for any cause.

Im in the West Wing of the accident hospital right now.

I had a little 'sexxident' with BlueBalls. (I just say my balls are also blue now...and my butthole, too) :shy:

But I dont blame Bluey! It was super fun anyway!! We have to do that again baby! But a bit more careful next time.

Lefty. :hatsoff:

I didn't really read this thread when I posted originally (it was 5am give me a break :D). What I was replying to was my political stance in general. In terms of American politics I don't have a vote so it doesn't really matter. I will reiterate what some of my fellow Europeans have said. What some of the US classes as left wing especially in terms of the political party that is supposed to represent this element of society is extrememly different to what would be considered left wing in other parts of the world.

Although we have the same situation here in the UK, the two main parties Labour once a party of the left and The Conservatives once a party of the right have become so centrist that it really is hard to tell the difference between them. You can pick the differences out if you really look but it's minesquel at best. The reason for this is because it gets votes. Labout have been in power for 12 years mainly working off of a centrist agenda and now that they look like they are on the way out the Tories have picked up the baton and are continuing to run with it. It's a joke. Yes, there's always the Liberal Democrats who mean well but are always seemingly in a mess or waiting for another disaster waiting to happen.

You see, when people ask why members from the UK don't discuss our politics this is the reason .

Anyway, hail Marx

Why don't you and DreamSparrow vote BNP then?

Right on economics. Left or center on most social issues.

So I really don't define myself or my ideas on a spectrum; rather, I learn as much as I can and make a rational decision based on the facts at hand.

Ideologies are DANGEROUS. They do the "thinking" for people so they don't have to...

As a Non-American and having a degree in Political Science and Sociology I would have to say the following things:
1) Partisan politics is one the most idiotic things in any government.
2) Religion is destroying American politics.
3) After writing 3 research papers on politics and reading the work of many of my schoolmates, I would have to say the average person knows so little about politics and the politicians they like or hate, they couldn't this question intelligently. You would be better off asking them where's Waldo?:yinyang:

Religion isn't as evil as it is portrayed on your side of the pond (or on ours, for that matter).

I'm more affraid of someone wanting to strip my right to bear arms than I am of the old lady who gives her ten percent every Sunday so someone in the community will be able to eat tomorrow night.

BTW: 3 research papers for a poli-sci degree...that's all? :dunno:;) You must go to a State University. :1orglaugh (I kid of course).
