As a non-American it doesn't bother me whether you like Obama or not. I do believe he will become a historical figure in one way or another, as the bar is set too high for him. Eloquence alone cannot replace the actual results.

Having said that, I have been noticing many anti-Obama threads here, a fact, which is kind of amusing in its own way. I almost never participate in Obama discussions as my macroscopic view of American politics does not give me enough tools to carve up a positively contributing post. Still, I am curious; do you consider yourself a right-wing or left-wing when it comes to American politics?

(Of course this post is intended primarily for Americans.)

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I was never very good at fitting in with the other kids, so... neither. Being a sheep and following the herd just never appealed to me.

Most of my views might be described as "conservative libertarian"... I dunno. Give it a name. :dunno:

The one and only.
I would say that I'm right-wing on most policies. That's not to say that I drink the Kool-Aid and blindly follow all GOP rhetoric, however.

I'd say neither, but I'm more republican. I'm confused when it comes to politics. Why can't we just all get along and blow up the damn terrorists?

There are some ideas that appeal to me from Republicans, but I will have to say Left...because the Christian Right has unfortunately hijacked this party, and the hipocrisy is just astounding.

Right wing

Though I'm a bit at odds with our President, I'm more left wing than right. However, I do like some of the republican policies

Independent, but according to Titsrock and his Freeones cronies, I'm a "right wing extremist nutbag/wacko." ;)

Truth be told, I'm liberal when it comes to local (i.e., state policy), but super conservative when it comes to having to bail out California or fighting a war over seas which I do not believe in. ;)

Really, poltical issues are so complex that you have to have a degree in economics/poli-sci/law/international law/history in order to opine on the subject, and I don't know too many people with that degree, so....

Left-Wing

But there's a big difference between USA's politics and the rest of the world :

What is considered as Lefet-Wing in the USA is not left-wing as we knbow it in Europe, It's not some kind of "Labour", it's more like some middle-right wing.

Politicians like Nicolas Sarkozy or Angel Merkel are considered to be right-wing in Europe, but in the US, they woul be considered as Left-wing. They are more like democrative. Rather than someone like Silvio Berlusconi would be considred has right-wing, more like conservative.
