Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I don't know for a fact, but I would guess Texas too. From the time I've spent aroud the DFW area, they're totally nuts about high school football in Texas.

Good stuff Jason it is great to see some high school football fans That is where it all starts

Texas has the best programs overall. I live in SC, and there are 2 schools in the national top 25 from here: Byrnes & Rock Hill. Byrnes actually has the #1 rated recruit acording to ESPN this year in Marcus Lattimore (at least he was at the beginning of the season).

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
I'm from Indiana. We play high school basketball here, and we do it better than anyone else. Fact. So you can have your football. I'll take a packed gymnasium over that any day.

And by the way, the answer to this question is Texas, hands down. You haven't seen high school football until you've watched it there.

hell yeah it is 4 years played at my high school, WR and CB.
The names on that list is just amazing. Western Pa is just an amazing place to watch high school foootball. All the old steel town get into it big time. Friday is for high school, Saturday is for braging about your high school, Sunday is all about Steelers, Monday-Thursday is taking about up comming High School game. FSN has coverage EVERYDAY on high school football.

IDK anything about Texas football, but I am sure both are very intense.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
As I stated previously in another thread, the percentage of college recruits from California, Texas and Florida are far and above those of any other states. No one else even comes close.

The question might as well be, “What State has the largest population of high school football players?”

If you want to look at best talent from a region per capita it is hard to argue with Western Pennsylvania, if you want to look at best talent per public high school, it is hard to argue with Cleveland Glenville.

The best high school football programs are in California. Texas and Florida may have more depth across their entire states, because those states are more passionate about high school football generally than California...

If we had a national high school playoff--where Cali, Tex, Fla, Ohio and PA all submitted their 2 best high school programs....I will put my money on the Cali teams winning the "mythical" HSBCSNC :thefinger

I was just about to mention Ohio and Pennsylvania in the discussion. Also,Maryland seems to be nuts about their HS football as well.

All that said,I voted for Texas.

The best High School prospects come from Florida.

Second comes Texas, followed by California.

Check Rivals, Scouts Inc, ESPN 150, etc....

High School prospects inside ESPN 150:

1. Florida - 28

2. Texas - 24

3. California - 19

....and it's been that order for quite some time now. Why do you think Florida, Florida State, and Miami have been so dominant?
