I call bullshit.

#1) you need a permit to own a suppressor.
#2) you would need to modify that gun, to adapt a suppressor to it.
#3) the custom work alone would cost as much as the gun did.
#4) the suppressor would cost more then the gun, AND the custom work.
#5) that gun does not have an adjustable cylinder/barrel gap, which is needed on a revolver, to contain the escaping gases, which make the report.
#6) I can't think of ONE SINGLE law enforcement agency, that would sanction the carrying of a concealed weapon, that was suppressed, unless you were an assassin for that Government agency.

All I can say is prove it with a photo of you, holding the gun, and today's newspaper (date must be clearly visible, as must the gun).

our suppressor cost $1,200 and another $200 for the tax stamp so they're not cheap.

we don't shoot with it that much and it's not practical for home defense or concealed carry because you want a gun to be loud if you ever have to ues it.

Don't they add about 6 - 8 '' to the overall length of the pistol / rifle?
Nope, that's not very concealable nor swift in response. I don't know much if anything at all about supressors Chica, are they interchangeable between calibers? For example, could you use the same supressor on your Siggy Pistol as you could on your AR as long as the threads are the same? :dunno:Beats the hell out of me, I'm just glad that I'm about to learn something in a few minutes time. :nanner:

it pretty much has to be fitted for the barrel/caliber to work right. my dad use to sell and fix guns so he worked on a few before.

Old Marlin model 60 .22 for rabbits etc.

Beat to shit .270 for deer etc.

Custom .243 for target shooting/wife's gun. She wanted something that didn't kick as hard as the .270 but could still be acurate at long ranges so I built her a rifle off of a Savage action, Shilen 26" SS 1:8 barrel, SSS trigger, Boyds stock and a 36x44 FCH scope. She averages .75 @ 225 with it.

While they aren't really interchangeable, they aren't an exact fit either. A suppressor for a 9mm pistol, is a larger dia. then 9mm, and is not a continuation of the rifling in the gun barrel. However, the dia. wouldn't be large enough to accommodate a .45acp.

Some of that depends on the gun, the ammo, and the suppressor. Let us not forget, the powers that be have access to things that even the licensed owners aren't permitted to possess.

I've seen video of suppressed M1A's, that were so quiet, the only audible sound was the action cycling. That's a pretty big round to make quiet.

Wow, I just shot my 10mm for the 1st time today along with my .40 caliber. both are glocks, both are brand new, Now I am not sure what kind of 10mm ammo I was shooting because I inherited 30 rounds of unknown brand and I bought a box of 50 reloads @ some mom and pops gun shop for a reasonable price. I just have to say, the 10mm is NO joke!! there was definitely a noticeable difference in shooting the .40 cal. and the 10mm, matter of fact I had everybody @ the range watching and asking what I was shooting cuz it was so much louder then what everybody else was shooting. but, despite not knowing what kind of 10mm ammo it was, the muzzle flash was spectacular along with a much stronger shot then the .40 cal. Now I see why everybody says shooting the 10mm is so much fun. all I can say is WOW!! :eek:

FWIW - I would strongly discourage that you shoot non commercially mfgd reloads, particularly in a Glock. The stock Glocks barrels simply don't offer enough case support for ''full house" loads. Not that this is a bad thing necessarily, it's just that Glock felt that he could sacrifice a little case support for better feed reliability.

You never know what somebody else loaded those 10's with, they do hold a considerable amount of powder. :2 cents:

Thanx Face, I covered my A$$, I went back and found the box of the ammo that I inherited and it was a box of Remington, and I also asked the owner of the gun shop about the 10MM reloads before I bought them and he told me he's been selling the same kind for several years and he's never gotten any complaints about them, in fact he said, people who buy them usually comeback for more. So I think I will be OK until I can buy some name brand HOT stuff. :flame: :glugglug:
