Where did my rep go (and everyone elses BTW)

This morning .. there I was with masses of hard earned rep, then lo and behold .. this afternoon I have NONE .... NADA .... ZILCH.
So I checked a few threads seems like everyone else has none too .. any ideas anyone??

Nope. Mine still shows up in my profile - besides, I just repped someone.

My guess?

1. System glitch - won't show on the boards, but the rep is there in your profile.
2. Admin decided to reset the rep system. Or "disconnect" rep 'power' from the link to your post count (rep power is 1% of your post count I believe...)
3. Admin decided to keep rep system but disable viewing on the boards.

I was all for a rep re-set back at new years. So this is fine by me. Or if it's gone completely...fine by me too.

As I said before...it was totally ridiculous that members with around 100 posts had millions of rep points, while older members had thousands of posts, and not as much rep as newer members.

Didn't it matter than much. I didn't really understand how the point distribution worked anyway. Seemed like the amount given was always pretty randomly disproportional. Either way it doesn't define anyone here. A billion or zero... you're still just a perv.

Something weird certainly went on here last night I'll tell you that!

I was in games (I'm sure somebody else saw it on the board somewhere) and poggy1's sig turned into this HUGE pic of fall leaves, bright orange and golds. :eek:Taking forever to load and I didn't even bother scrolling the 10 inches across then down to see the whole pic. After about 5 min it just changed back. Just my :2 cents:

I forgot to note. poggy1 wasn't on when it happened.

To me the Rep system was just another way of saying "I liked what you said". Personal contact between posters about posts that I thought merited special thanks/attention without having to resort to PMs.

I liked it - even if the points do go away, can we still have the system in place? Just so we can trade such "informal" communiques betwixt ourselves?

Can't say I'll miss it if it's gone for good. Positive rep was not of much use except being told that someone agrees with you, though the comments were somewhat interesting at times. Negative rep on the other hand was a substitute for an actual argument, which is fairly insulting as far as I'm concerned.
