I usually cut my toe nails like once a week. I cut my finger nails almost every day though...which is weird I think.
It does sound like you nails grow very fast...Maybe you could join the X-Men.

Has anybody here ever wondered why we have toenails in the first place? I mean, fingernails come in handy but what purpose do your toenails serve?

I did some (very limited)research on the internet and as far as I can tell, nobody knows why we have toenails. Weird.

Each 1-2 week, depends on how long they are.

They help protect the ends of your toes. Humans didn't always wear shoes around like they do how.

I clip mine when I look down and see they are getting too long. There is no time frame I go by.

I clip mine as needed.

My FINGERNAILS, on the other hand...they tend to break on their own.

I was going to say something like that.

every 1-2 weeks or when I put a sock on and one of them snags on the sock

Human toenails are the evolutionary heritage of our ancestors who had claws on their limbs. They must confer some survival advantage. Finger nails make some things easier to pickup. Toenails protect your toes when you drop what you picked up with your finger nails. People with damaged toes do not make good sex partners. In other words, who the fuck knows.

Just the tips...and only at the top. Some protection.

Actually they provide a lot more protection than it seems at first. For example if you tap your finger on it's end on top of a desk or other hard object you should be able to notice how the fingernail does absorb the majority of the blunt force that is applied there instead of it going into the more sensitive finger tip. If it wasn't for that the little bit of flesh covering would be jammed right into the tip of the bone that composes the end of your finger. That bone is pretty pointed. The same goes for your toes. You wouldn't want to stub your toe without a toenail on it as bad as it is normally. One both the fingers and the toes the fingernail acts as a backing to strengthen the finger when you need to lift something heavy or propel yourself forward by using your feet.
