Hmm, I forgot about this thread. Anyway, when I saw that it had re-appeared, I thought of something and thought it would be interesting to see what people thought.
Obviously, we all have different opinions on whether or not homosexuality is a choice or if it's a biological imprint within our DNA. But, we can all agree to disagree. With that being said, here is my thought...
If homosexuality is something that is encoded within our DNA and we have no ability to control our so-called sexual orientation, then why are there so many cases of heterosexual women that turn to lesbianism only after they have been sexually abused/raped by a man?
If you don't believe that such a thing happens all that often, try talking to women sometime because it happens far more often than you think. A woman gets raped by a man, that woman turns to other women for comfort and soon becomes a lesbian. If it was encoded within their DNA (and this sounds awful for me to say), then it wouldn't take a horrific tragedy like a rape to bring out their homosexual feelings - they would've always been there to begin with.
Thoughts?
FYI - I am NOT redirecting this conversation towards rape in any way, shape or form. I am only using this as an example. The topic is still homosexuality/heterosexuality.
