well guys the best film of gore and suspense is a movie called: Battle Royal. i'm from europe actually, an i got the dvd from Japan! it's a story about a class taken to an island to let them kill each other!just brilliant and the soundtrack is all finest classical music, wich makes the movie be real macabre! i heard it was an adaptation from a manga but i'm not sure! but anyway if you want a good movie, go get it. it's worth it an to me it's one of the best movies ever!

Battle Royale is CORE! I love that fuckin movie. Its actually based off a novel written in 1999. The book is even better. But as far as uber-violent movies go, BR is the movie to see.

Phantasm is my all time favorite horror movie. Reggie kicks ass and no one gives me the creeps like the Tall Man.

i'm not much of a horror fan these days but i used to collect obscure horror dvd's.



they're more dark comedies but does anyone like troma movies?

i love the toxic avenger movies, terror firmer, class of nuke em high etc. just great bad movies.

I concur! Battle Royale kicks a ton of ass.

Go for the book though, it its much, MUCH better than the movie.

I think the 3 original horror characters that truly succeded were:

Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers - All these still have the potential to keep churning out a never ending supply of movies- a bit like the James Bond movies but better!!lol

Braindead is a classic spoof horror directed by Peter Jackson, loads of gore in that. Apart from a lot of the films mentioned such as Evil Dead, ect how about Interview with a Vampire and Natural Born Killers (not exactly horrors but each with it's own merit).

I noticed Battle Royal was mentioned (US to remake this) but what about Ichi the Killer? Some pretty brutal scenes in that, I mean the cop cuts his own toungue off! As for Texas Chainsaw I actually liked the Remake- It had a bit more pace to it even if it did lose all the original plot.

Finally if you want to catch a great comedy zombie movie you MUST check out Shaun of the Dead - 5* rating on that!

Also "Undead" from these austrailian brothers looks damm promising.

"Saw" from Lions gate entertainment is getting amazing reviews from nearly every horror site...
