What artist or artists have the best universal appeal according to women ?
I'm simply looking for something that would be good for background music, when having a date over at the homestead, that kind of thing.

Guy's, don't be embarrased, after all, we gotta do what we gotta do sometimes, it's not all headbangers ball. :p

I figure that with some input, I may pick up some new options for my CD collection :hatsoff:

90's music is acceptable.

Thanks ~

That's like asking what kind of fruit is the tastiest according to women.

If you want some nice background music to get in the mood I recommend Enigma :)

Kinda cliched here now, dunno about the States...

But if you want 'ambient' background music - Portishead and Massive Attack. There's a reason why their music ends up in so many 'edgy' sex scenes. If she's into dark, slightly laidback and kinky, chances are she'll like them.

Tunes to look out for are:
Roads - Portishead
Glory Box - Portishead
Black Milk - Massive Attack
Angel - Massive Attack
Teardrop - Massive Attack
Dissolved Girl - Massive Attack
All Mine - Portishead
Sour Times - Portishead

It really depends on her age and 'scene' though.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
I guess the question is: what kind of mood are you trying to set? Are you after mellow music to listen to and chill out? Or do you want some "fuck me" music?

cliched but good music...

As for my choice...

Why don't you just put Marvin Gaye on and get down to it!

If you want an old-school vibe, I have found that John Coltrane's "My Favorite Thing" is a great album to play for entertaining purposes.

Any time I'm in the mood to chill out, I throw on some Indie Rock. It's mellow, and it's great in the background even if you're not paying attention to it. Personally, I like Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins, The Decemberists, The Postal Service, Keane (more Indie pop), Hot Hot Heat, or Modest Mouse just to name a few. And as someone said earlier, if you looking for "fuck me" music, throw on Marvin Gaye. It doesn't get any better than that...

you have a homestead?

Dengue Fever, Chicha Libre - two proven winners :lovecoupl:
