What would you like to see on the FreeOnes Board?

Hey guys!

So this is a thread for you to post suggestions for what you'd like to see (or not see) on this here board, no matter how small or large. We're always looking for ways to improve and upgrade, so by all means fire away down below and we'll see what we can do!

An extension of time to edit posts would be helpful. The additional time could be tied to post count or rep. Something like 45 days or so would be good.

Same for deleting posts - maybe an hour or so would be good. If there is a double or triple post, a mod doesn’t need to get involved.

1. Not the Board so much as the users of it. Back in the day, this used to be a funner forum. More personality and verve. Now it's all rehashed mommie dearest pics and single-minded perversion.
2. Make posting pics and gifs easier and more allowable. If you guys want, impose a megabit limit.
3. A chat room exclusive to or apart from but linked to FreeOnes members. We could chat about motorcycle maintenance or what we'd like to do to Victoria Justice.
4. Free chocolate mints on our pillow.

You can upload pics & GIFs to FreeOnes, it just has to be within a certain file size otherwise it gets rejected.

e.g. the GIF above is one I just uploaded because it's small enough. It doesn't have to be that tiny in order to work, but it's just an example.

And even some images get scaled down automatically so they don't take up too much hosting space.

You don't have to upload stuff to FreeOnes directly though in order to post or share it. You can use the 'insert image' button for example where you can copy and paste in the URL if it is hosted elsewhere.

Just make sure it is hosted somewhere that is not gonna get disabled because of hotlinking. Ideally it will have been uploaded to an image host somewhere rather than a direct link to an image hosted on someone's specific site, otherwise it uses their bandwidth.

Any pics/GIFs questions... just ask cos it may be a case of just knowing how to go about it rather than not being able to do it.

And there was/is a chat room but I think it has been forgotten about and not sure anyone is keeping tabs on it but I think it's fair to say it wasn't a great success.

We are discussing this and if anyone else would like to see this happen, it may sway our decision.

1. The internet has changed and so have porn forums. There are so many different places to discuss any subject with people that chat has become spread thin. We always welcome new threads to drive new discussions though!
2. This was addressed by @The Identifier above with a level of knowledge that I would not have been able to impart.
3. We did have a Discord - somewhere. We have a Rocketchat that is barely used - https://chat.freeones.com/home
4. Any chocolate mints passing by my hands will not make it to anyone's pillow.

(1) For the 99th time, I'll ask for an option that, by default, loads a thread with the newest post first and displays them in descending order. It is ludicrous to me that when I click on a thread, it takes me to activity from 2006 where all the links are dead - utterly pointless. I know the board software has a global switch to do this - turn it on please.

(2) For watched threads, don't tell me there are new posts in a thread if the only new posts are from users on my ignore list. I get this every damn day in about 5-8 threads and it is annoying. The thread is listed and there MIGHT be new posts by someone else but I can't know except by clicking on it and seeing (99.95% of the time) it is just another post from an ignored member.

I second this.

Login Coordination between the main site and the forums. Currently it seems like logging into the forums doesn't log you into the main site.
Logging in through the main site should get you in to both the site and the forum.

Maybe there is a flaw with the auth.freeones.com/login page specifically. If anyone else has this problem, shout.

The forum gives you the option to 'log in using MyFreeOnes' so I would assume it is supposed to log you into both and is not just a means of logging you into the forum and the forum alone.

I don't know how it was designed, so can't be sure what the intentions were.

But as the saying goes in the web development trade... "it's not a bug. It's a feature!"

Less of .... Get rid of all of the PartyHardcore, Drunk Sexy Orgy, etc. Identification and Scene Request Threads. I don't hate them. But I dislike them tremendously. Ban the words. And don't allow them anywhere on the boards. Any threads that now exist? Close them. Tell these members to go elsewhere. Tell them to go back to reddit or tumblr or to whatever shithole they came from.

Three quarters of the members who I have on ignore here are the ones requesting PartyHardcore, Drunk Sexy Orgy Identification and Scene Requests. Any members who I see requesting or responding to this crap go immediately to ignore. No exceptions.

Why do I hate these people? For example, they are guys who ask for .. "in PH 34, episode 14, scene 22, from 2009 (remastered in 2013 under Tainster). It also was from Drunk Sexy Orgy 18, scene 13 (under Digital Media Management in 2011): there was this sexy brunette lady, who was on screen for about three minutes and who gave the guy she was dancing with a tremendous blow job for a minute and a half. Who is she? I want to know more about her! Other places, other scenes?"

(Even though everyone on planet Earth knows that she is a "one and done.") -- Who the f**k cares?

I don't quite understand this one personally, so it will require some more explanation/examples. But what I will say for now is that if you click on the date above the username of the person who is the latest to post a message in that thread, it will take you to it regardless of whether you have ever looked at the thread before or not.

Whereas if you just click on the title, it will take you to the first post.

I know you are saying you want it as the default setting, but why is it needed when the current system allows you to do whatever you want to do? ...whether it is go straight to the first post or the latest post.

As for getting notifications for members on your muted list, that shouldn't happen I don't think. That's something I'll have to experiment with. I'll need a test subject, someone to put on my ignore list. Ah yes, John will do. I don't hate him, I just dislike him tremendously. :giggle:

Useful, but that doesn't work if you're heading to the thread via a bookmark or a separate file with links to threads (equivalent of a bookmark), and that's how I go to threads 99.99% of the time. I also want the reverse-order listing so I can quickly scan recent postings and avoid duplicates. Basically I just want the old board behavior, is that too much to ask? Probably since I've been asking since we got the new board.

I second Gmase's point. Sometimes we're tired/drunk/etc and it would be nice to be able to fix the post when we have clearer eyes. I appreciate that the edit timeframe is more generous than many other sites, but FO's should be held to a higher standard, right? ;)

Deleting should also apply to private messages - I've have times where sever errors resulted in double posts and it drives my OCD crazy not being able to fix it :)

There are different ways to navigate into a thread.

https://www.freeones.com/forums/threads/best-non-nude.468/unread - takes you to the first unread post, wherever it might be
https://www.freeones.com/forums/threads/best-non-nude.468/latest - takes you to the latest post, regardless of whether you've looked at thread before or not

So if you are bookmarking threads or have an Excel document or whatever it is you are doing, if you save the link with /latest at the end then it should always open with the latest post when you click it.

You'll have to experiment with different thread URLs and IDs because how they load will depend on whether you've never looked at it or partially read it, cos it will either take you to the start or where you left off accordingly. But 'latest' should override everything.

Now that is truly useful information. Is this widely known and I'm just clueless? Regardless, the board just become better for me. Still not perfect - have to scroll up to see links earlier than the latest, but a great improvement. I just added /latest to hundreds (600-800, hard to count) of links in my bookmark file.
