Socialism is nothing more than getting people to work together for the common good.There's nothing wrong with that, it's just naive to think this will be the driving force behind people's actions.So they have to be made to comply.
Communism takes things a step forward , things are owned publicly rather than privately.
There's plenty of examples in the Western economies.Roads and schools, police and the military all operate in this system , you are all obliged to pay taxes to provide them.Do you object to having good roads because they are commie things?
In the more civilised countries there is universal free healthcare and believe me once you've had this WHATEVER your political views generally you see it as a GOOD THING.It's in fact a highly liberating situation.
Most successful economies operate a mixture of capitalism , which generates wealth but if left to itself disregards the human element and socialism/communism which channels some of this wealth for the public benefit.
Those who complain about jobs being lost to China should realise that this is capitalism in action;go for lowest costs and biggest profits no matter what it does on the way.
