1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol -- that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

You summed up why I go sober WITHOUT a concept like the AAs. If I accept a state of mind that defines me as powerless or uncapable of handling my situation without superior beings, I am failing already.
I went through therapy and I am stone cold sober and I am very little endangered to fall back.
