What kind of car do you drive?

Re: What automobile do you drive?

1991 Blue Ford Escort Hatchback. 90000 miles and it has loads of problems, actually looking for a new car at the moment.

1997 Mitsubishi Galant

Love it still drives great, if I could change anything I'd get a new stereo for it.
A little while back my battery ran down and I lost the restart code for the radio.

Re: Your Car

Honda CRF 450R is my favorite. Everyday driver is Toyota Tundra. AFA - from the looks of the parking, you need a brake job.

Re: Your Car

I have a red, 2000 Chevy K2500(3/4 ton) 4X4 pick-up, and a blue, 1978 1/2 Harley Davidson FXS Low Rider. The wife has a black, 4-door Honda Accord.

Sniff....sniff... this surely could be called the "What ever makes me look cool/rich/funny/macho/witty thread... because I can post anything I want and no one can say BS" thread... :D:D:D

It's also interesting to see who can still drive the low effiecency cars... years after the thread was started. The high end market is moving even higher (exclusivity/affordability wise). A few of you know what I do and let me tell you, even I don't even see or support the point anymore....

Or you just love automobiles in my book! :glugglug:

I always had tiny econocars. I like them, especially some of those you can't get in the U.S. I don't see a car as an "extension of my personality" or anything like that! :jester: I am also concerned that for the second time, the U.S. didn't do anything to prepare from lessons learned about dependence on oil 25 years ago, and cars made in the U.S. really don't show a lot of improved m.p.g. from 1980. A year ago, you could get a substantial tax rebate on a Hummer as a "farm vehicle" based on it's weight. The only reason little cars are dangerous on U.S. roads is because that's what you're up against if you get in an accident.

When I hear 10 m.p.g., I've had cars that did over 4x that.

Besides, Basil Fawlty once said, "British cars have steering wheels".

If I could buy a new car it would probably be one that gets great gas mileage. The tradeoff would probably be worth it in the end for me. I also never really cared about how cool the vehicle was that I drove. Not that it wouldn’t be nice to have a nice car, but it is something that I can definitely live without and it would not make my life unhappy because of the lack of one. I would just have to pray I never get in an incredibly bad snowstorm or have to tow anything with it along with all the other working needs people have for cars other than just going from point A to point B. Getting more than one vehicle would probably never be an option for me, and a lot of other people for that matter. Of course they are also unsafe. Even if you made every normal vehicle lightweight you would still have to worry about what would happen if it ever collided with a semi-truck, an immovable object like a tree or brick wall, or a large animal. The cost to fix it would probably be more in that case if you lived. They're probably the way people should go, but it isn’t like they don’t have flaws. Of course I think part of the problem is people that buy large trucks and SUVs and don’t really have a true need for one. When some small family owns one and almost all they do with it is go to the supermarket and back it makes you wonder.
